We need a summary of rules that were/are exclusively released through WD. Anything like that?

So far, I believe the only ones that aren't found anywhere else are the Looted Wagon rules and possibly a couple of Knights (Obsidian and Gerantius?)

and the new 'nid stuff of course. Pretty sure there's been more.

The Nid stuff is actually available in Shield of Baal:Leviathan. While that may have sold out in some places (although it will still be in stores on Saturday) the rules are not WD only.

No they most certainly are not WD only...

The Tyrannocyte and the Sporocyst do not have their rules on the webstore but considering it took the Monday after the WD would have stopped being in stores(they're supposedly told to stop selling the previous week's WD on Saturdays when the new one is out) that might be happening on Monday.

The fact that GW has published rules that are ONLY found in White Dwarf bodes ill for future army releases.

From GW's perspective, it fits into the overall scheme of buying a Codex, buying a supplement, buying a dataslate, and now, to help flagging White Dwarf sales, buy a White Dwarf so you can have all the rules for your army.

It will not surprise me in the least if a new bug comes out in a future White Dwarf.

Other than the fact that these new bugs are in Shield of Baal: Leviathan and the Toxicrene and Maleceptor having their rules available for free on the website...

Oh, and the Zoanthrope/Venomthrope issue of WD apparently has not sold as well as the Maleceptor/Toxicrene and Tyrannocyte/Sporocyte issues.

I should add though that the amount of "WD only" content that is actually worth having is few and far between. The only thing that immediately springs to mind is the Ork Looted Wagon rules...and those basically suggest that you just use Battlewagon rules instead.

I actually like the idea of having them either available in WD or in the Shield of Baal book, If i don't want the book I can get the WD, if I don't want the WD I can get the book(or the digital book)

Not against you but I keep seeing this. So what is it? Is it ill for future army releases or isn't this what people have been asking for? I mean a lot of people have been asking for new rules and units in WD. Now we have it, we have people complaining about it.

No wonder 40K players look like we complain all the time. No matter what GW does someone will complain. GW can give free miniatures away and someone will complain about how evil GW is for giving out free minis.

Just tired of seeing people complain about something, example "why not use WD for new units and rules" and GW does it and then people complain about it. No wonder it seems GW doesn't give a crap about rules, we as players and customers ourselves show we don't like no matter what GW does. We crap on GW no matter what they do. So why should GW bother to make anything good. GW could make an awesome rule set and people will still complain about it.

Why not put a copy of the rules in the box with the model???

I guess that would be too convenient.

I thought they did that? They did it for a bunch of the fortifications

I've certainly never bought a box that came with any rules.

The rules are in the box.
And on the website in PDF
And in WD.

The put rules in the boxes of fortifications, all the new Fantasy releases that weren't in Army Books (Nagash, Morachs, Glotkin... )

The Looted Wagon is only in WD because it has no model, so no box..

I've certainly never bought a box that came with any rules.

They seem to have not done so with the new Tyranid releases, but they did with the End Times stuff for WFB.

I think it would be more in the, cards from boxs are not mentioned as a source for rules in ETC or any tournament pack, so to use fortifications you need the Fortress assault book, else the list is illegal for shop or tournament use.

To be fair, the instruction book rules for the fortifications were BEFORE "Stronghold Assault".

So when Stronghold Assault came out, it invalidated the previous rules--unless they're the same.

I know . The worse of us here is that we had 6 books in all 4 stores sold here. So if there is a tournament only those 6 and two more can use fortification.
