Im looking at buying a new case to transport my models. Im getting a little tired of the Small GW case and a shoe box for tanks haha.
Im looking at getting the Battlefoam sword bag. Mainly for the reason that its still battle foam and its fairly inexpensive (around $80). Im wondering if anyone has any reviews on these or have used them. Like is the foam all good size for minis? Hows the pluck foam for tanks and monstrous creatures and such? I play necrons and orks and need to fit battlewagon, trucks, ghost arks, barges, wraiths, warriors etc etc etc. Plus having the 3 spots on the front for cards, dice, tape measure etc is awesome. And the large spot for the codex. Jeez I need that haha...
Any insight to how good these are for the price would be fantastic!!! Thanks everyone!

I can't offer any feedback on that case, but I've got their Puppet Wars Unstitched foam direct from them and have nothing but praise. Their customer service has been excellent, and the foam fits perfectly in the box and holds all of the models very snugly. No-one's broken so far!
Not the right product, I know, but I thought I'd throw in my 2p to recommend them as a company

I have the shield bag and it does wonders. That being said I play Warmachine with a limited faction so my needs are a good bit different than yours. For orks and needing to transport wagons and trukks, it's not gonna be your best bet. The bag will hold AT MOST one wagon and a trukk per piece of pluck foam. You might be able to squeeze a third vehicle in, not totally sure those since I'm arranging things totally by memory. You'll be able to hold most of your necron infantry, if not all. Same goes for the orks, all depends on how many you have. I'd suggest going a step up in size per army if you have any decent number of vehicles. There is no way you're fitting two 40k armies into a single sword bag.

Totally. Ya I usually play 1500 point games and only ever bring 1 army at a time. Otherwise they are always stored ona book shelf when I am not using them

They make a good product, but any custom cut foam (anything other than pluck foam) will slow your order down. Also, they typically do a Black Friday sale of 25% off, but, as they get so many orders, many of them don't ship until after Christmas. But, if you're willing to wait, that 25% off is nice.

Because they are shipping you a huge bag.
Shipping is just expensive in general.

I'm pretty unimpressed by Battlefoam's customer service, actually. I ordered from them during the Black Friday sale once and I understand that they are very busy and all, but they should be upfront and tell you "This will not get to you until February/March," because the whole idea of Black Friday is that you should have the item by Christmas. Then, of course, it was impossible to get them to respond to emails and just tell me when my bag would arrive. Very shoddy service. I'd give them an F on that front...
Unfortunately, their bags are really good. I like KR, but Battlefoam is just better, I've found.

The quality of their bags is excellent IMHO and I certainly don't regret buying their products (or, for that matter, the K&R cases that I have). Two things to bear in mind:
1) The bags are expensive, more so than their competitors. Are they worth that extra money? In my opinion yes, but that might not hold true for everyone. Some people prefer to buy something cheaper and use the difference to buy more models and I can totally understand that. But I value protecting what I have more than getting.. more
2) Buy the biggest bag that you can afford, but one that is still practical for you to carry around. Battlefoam typically create products that are designed to carry something very specific and a complaint I often hear is "Well great, I have this bag, but where do I put my drinks and snacks? Now I have to carry two bags." This is certainly valid, which is why I would say that it is better to have a bigger bag that maybe has more pockets, or at least the space for an extra layer of 'space holder' pluck foam for later expansion (or snacks!) than end up in a situation where you need two bags.
Sometimes you hear both of the problems above combined in the statement "Why would I buy this $100 bag that can hold my models but has no room for my (whatever) when my $25 backpack will take my army, my packed lunch AND my jacket?"
..and to that, you have to ask yourself "Why would you spend $25 on a backpack when you could spend $1 on a durable trash bag and toss in 4 armies and a kitchen sink?" The answer is obvious - because when you are talking about miniature transportation, the survival of your models and easy of carry have an associated value / cost because that is the purpose of the product. A backpack is that much cheaper, but as a means of carrying your minis, it is that much less protective.

I own two battlefoam bags and love them.. I own the 1540xl for my ork army and a warmachine pluck foam bagfor my Menoth army. Love that I can transport my entire army using these two bags. I waited untill the sales they hold twice a year before I bought my bags.

I have the spear bag, and it is pretty awesome. The dimensions of the trays in the shield/spear set is the same as GW's foam (about 14"x11" iirc) while the sword is smaller I think, they have two size foam for infantry one that holds 55 which is suitable for most infantry in fairly conservative poses (fantasy miniatures for example, although marines, guard and similar are also good) and then one which holds 44 iirc that is better for things like marines with banners and guys holding stuff overhead, but otherwise still fairly conservative posing only. Then there is a size of tray better suited to things like terminators, bikes, battlesuits and stuff in cool poses and/or with scenic bases, but no cavalry, which are way to tall in general. They also have pluck foam that comes in heights from 1" to 5", maybe 6" I don't recall specifically, although I'm pretty sure it comes in 1/2" increments, which is nice. BF's pluckfoam gaks all over GW's, it has an actual base glued to the bottom (not like the GW ones) and the squares you pull out are about half the size, so it is pretty easy to get stuff to form nice modelish shaped holes in the foam. I'm pretty sure their custom foam creator will make up foam in the GW foam dimension as well, which is pretty cool.
