Hey guys, I found this really cool set of historical minis, that is relatively affordable, that looks pretty good.

Do you think these would work as early empire models? Like maybe the sylvanian invasion?

Let me know what you think
Thanks

Those miniatures are a little bit small compared to the GW models and dont come on the square bases but you can put them on square bases.
Lots of people like the perry miniatures though and use the knights they make. Again they are a little smaller even though they are the same scale but I think thats because games wokrshop is a 28mm Heroic scale.

I like the foot knights they make and would use them as greatswords models even tho they are smaller.

Here is a comparison of the knights:

Just google some comparisons of the foot guys vs halberdiers or something there are quite a few examples. As long as you make your units all Perry then you should be okay

The only problem that I am having is my budget

I can only get one of these boxes atm, (the foot knights or the european mercenaries) and I don't know which I should get to start with.

Thanks

Probably the mercenaries since you will be using them as spearmen or things like that which are core choices. The foot knights would be more like great swords which are special choices.

I use those and HYW troops as Empire / Bretonnians
They work perfectly (and scale isn't an issue at all), they're cheaper, you got many more than GW equivalents and also .... they look much better

You should start with Infantry I'd say, you got a lot of bang for your buck
Mercenaries work better than HYW for Empire as they have Xbows / Handguns instead of Longbows
