Hi guys, i'm looking to get some feedback on the following armylist. Aiming for something fairly shooty, I have used some of the components of the army in different contexts the only thing that is really new is the forge fiend (currently dont own one) and the sorcerer in terminator armour (i plan to run him with the oblits chosing all powers from telepathy hoping for shrouded or invisibility) i have used the mayhem pack before and they were great fun so the plan would be to teleport bomb with the helbrutes and hopefully support them with the oblits and the sorcerer
the cultists hug cover and try to servive/capture objectives in my deployment zone, the second sorcerer will probably hide with the cultists or with the havocs using divination to buff either the forge fiend (to counter its crappy BS) and the havocs (to make the lascannons a half arsed deterrant for flyers but also to provide some ranged anti armour).
I know the list lacks real anti air, i'm hoping the threat of 4 twin linked lascannons will keep flyers jinking to reduce impact on the game

Personally I'd probably drop the single spawn as it will be an easy first blood kill for your opponent.
In terms of anti air how about thinking of dropping the havocs and adding a Heldrake (pain in the a$$ to paint though mind) with a hades autocannon. I suppose it's not absolutely critical to drop the havocs for a heldrake as the hades autocannons on the Forgefiend might get lucky and land a few hits and more than likely penetrate most flyers.
That's just my two cents.

thanks, i'm trying to avoid the heldrake as it seems to be the auto take for any chaos army just to be competitive.
i take your point about the spawn but i need something to hang out at my backfield to make frontal assaults less attractive perhaps if i shave some oblative wounds from the havocs i would have enough points for something more effective?

Well a single spawn isn't really going to deter anyone that wants to assault you from assaulting you.
If you really want some dedicated assault or assault deterrent, you could shave some points for a full squad of spawn and change the one of the sorcs to a beastick lord on a bike. They'd kind of be all alone if you move them up field though, at least until the Helbrutes drop. Could switch forgefiend for a maulerfiend as it will keep pace with them

If you are looking to make your list more shooty, I wouldn't worry about assault deterrents. You have the DeepStriking Helbrutes, which should draw some attention.
If i was looking to go more shooty, I'd look at taking the extra guys out of the Havoc Squad, trimming the cultist down two 2 ten man squads with Autoguns/heavy stubber, and drop the spawn. See if that couldn't net me another 5 man Havoc squad with Autocannons or Missile Launchers depending on points. Any left over would go to Autogun Cultists and Heavy Stubbers

Now I see why you are trading me your heldrakes...I will still take them. I plan to use the bale flamer to ignore cover saves on wave serpents and dark eldar raiders.
btw, what is the name of the unit you speak of?

Helltalon I believe. It's paper thin though. AV 10 all around and 2 HP i think

thanks for all the idea's guys, what about a dakka pred instead of autocannon havocs?
i like havocs and everything i just feel that more than one squad is a little static, 7th edition seems to demand a little manoeuvring, while lascannons have the punch for a bit of area denial i'm not sure there is a place for another completely stationary shooting unit
still not overly sold on the idea of flyers though, esp if i'm deep striking so many points into the opposite deployment zone though a single helltalon is food for thought as it has a decent chance of taking a hull point of an opposing flyer if it doesnt jink - no actually that sounds like a terrible idea! i'll do a bit of number crunching, if i can squeeze 100pts that'll be enough for a pred with autocannon and heavy bolters (95pts) then probably a combi bolter for 5 pts or warp flame gargoyles for a bit of soul blaze for spite Automatically Appended Next Post: lol i just realised that would mean i'm using 4 heavy supports, i want to keep this battle forged!

Hell Talon is the bomber with twice the hull points of its fighter cousin the Hell Blade... but both are decent but terribly fragile. Excellent models but the Hell Talon is a bit big (and expensive)
