I have quite a lot of IG/AM models to build an army. I have already started building it as Genestealer Cult by doing a couple of conversions on unit leaders and such. Nothing that can't be undone or ignored. After playing a few games, I almost feel like I'd enjoy the army more if it was IG/AM allied with Chaos Space Marines or something more resilient. In that regard, I was thinking of having them allied with a Tzeentch-dedicated army since I enjoy that asthetic more than the other chaos gods. Thoughts? Suggestions?

How would you go about building a CSM/IG army?

I would purchase Imperial Armor 13, as it contains the Renegades and Heretics army list, which is the traitor guard, that way they're battle brothers with the CSM

As traitor guard they will fit either battle brother renegades or as come the apocalypse astra militarum. I like to have options so this is what I'm working on.

Traitor guard has the potential to be a lot scarier. Plague Zombies, Leman Russes, Weapons Batteries, etc, plus you can ally in CSMs and Daemons. What's not to love?

BTW the Renegades and Heretics army list would make incredible rules for a genestealer cult. Some cheap artillery with some speed bumps to protect it would be just the number for a nid ally. They could even be made the warlord and thus you can stick your warlord in a T7 unit that will stay on a landing pad or behind an ADL. Not that nids really need allies with all the dataslate love they have gotten.

If you are going to run them with CSM then the renegades and heretics list works incredibly well.
