I was quite surprised when I read that. Admiral Forrest and the independent fleet captain are going to become very popular. I also wonder if Christopher Guild is off the project now, because these rulings actually make sense. He was very firm with the chain Volley of Torpedoes thing and that has been nerfed as it should have been. Automatically Appended Next Post:
Tactical Stations also got taken down a peg. Now if disabled it adds 1 die to one attack or if discarded you can choose how to apply 2 dice. No longer added to each attack. Oh well there goes my Kirk ED build, at least I got to use it once.

I really really hope for a changeling Founder that can perform similar to Forrest so the wife can field that and remain faction pure, even though she's claiming she could use the card and just say it's a Founder pretending to be Forrest...

yeah adding movemnet options through the new ruling on those cards is going to be sweet. might even use the battleship for the 2nd time since that whale was released.

I loved my Battleship! Yes, the maneuver dial kinda sucked, but it never really mattered as I would just pound stuff all the way into "knife fighting" range- that's when I equip all my boarding parties with knives and beam them over to the other ship to fight in melee on board the enemy ship (as so often happened in the series...).
Really, running a Dom BS is kinda fun that makes you take a secondary ship to cover your rear.

This ruling will give thd Battleship new life. Admiral Forrest could be the best Admiral in the game now. Between regular move and Forrest's action most ships should be able to keep those tricksy Borg in arc  , especially anyone with a 180.
Forrest will also allow Voyager to do a 1 straight. It may not seem like a big deal... but once you don't have it, look out.

yeah, bringing back movement into the game, as opposed to just having everyone run borg where movement basically means nothing, will be welcome.
gives me some impetis to paint up a battle cruiser to go along with the battleship and maybe a scarab ship or two

Oh, I agree! Admiral Forest just went from a "meh, whatever, at least he gives +1 Captain Skill for cheap", to a "OMG! HE MUST BE ON EVERYSHIP!!211@!!"
OK, maybe not that badly. I'd take him on a ship that needs that kind of turning, like the Dom BS. Not sure I'd do it on the Voyager though. The Voyager can already have a 360 shot if it wants to, and it moves so fast that it's nice to shoot past your opponent, then turn around and do it again. Eh, depends on the build. It's kind of funny, I see more use for him on non-Federation ships then Federation ships.
Think about this to blow your mind- Admiral Forest on a Borg Sphere. /mind BLOWN! OK, not that blown, and why would you do it? For a cheap extra +1 Captain Skill when you run out of Drones. LOL just trying to come up with some absurd uses for him. Oh! Oh! Admiral Forest on the Rav Laerst with a cloaking device and all the Sensor Echo's... LOL I think there is a Romulan build that can do the same thing?

I don't think he will help too much on a Borg ship, now it would be funny to watch though. The borg movement gives them mor flexibility and the Queen admiral is cheapr. 5 points as opposed to 6 and +2 to skill.
He helps out the Dominion most because all of their ships are limited to front arcs. Since Forrest takes up an action heworks better when combined with something that grants extra actions, ie Picard, Spock, Dukat, flagship. He wouldn't be bad for Romulans or Klingons, but they also have sensor echo which can be more flexibility.

I would say the main reason to use the movement fleet captain you can now shed two AUX tokens a turn
I think forests is an action, so might not work in that regard so well.
normal ship hard turn, + forests hard turn, + fleet captain hard turn could be interesting when used the right way

How can you shed two Aux Power Tokens a turn now? I saw the ruling that says if your ship is granted an extra maneuver and the maneuver isn't "typed" (Green, white, red), it's assumed to be an extra white maneuver. I see Pavel Chekov allowing you to remove an Aux Power Token when you perform a white maneuver, but Admiral Forest's ability is a Fleet Action, and if you have a Aux Token on your ship already, you can't use the Fleet Action... I'm not seeing it. How can you get rid of more then one Aux Token in a turn when you can't perform an action due to having an Aux Token on your ship?

im talking about the fleet captain white maneuver, not forests,
so with chekov, do a white, take off an aux, then use the fleet captain text which isnt an action, do another white, take off another aux
similar to the flag ship resource that lets you do a extra white/green without it being an action

I think you missed #2 on the Fleet Reference card-
Once per round, 1 friendly ship within range 1-3 of the Admiral's ship (or the Admiral's ship itself) may perform the FLEET ACTION listed on that fleet's Admiral Card instead of performing its normal action.
You need an action to use the Fleet Action instead of a regular action.
I haven't seen a card yet that allows you to make another move without spending an action to do so. I also haven't seen every card in the game yet.

no, you are missing that i am not talking about the fleet action on the admiral forest card,
I am talking about the fleet captain/flag ship resource cards both of which allow extra moves with no action

Ah, I get it. See? I haven't seen all the cards in the game yet, and I'm unfamiliar with Fleet cards. The only resources I ever see are the Flagship cards.
