I'm looking to add feathers to a large number of Kroot models (very original, I know).  Is there a cheaper way to get feathers than cutting them off the plastic human hats from the Empire and Mordheim ranges?  I'll need more than fifty feathers possibly.

I would think they would be fairly simple to sculpt with green stuff.

Thin oval shape.
'Spine' and radiating veins made with a hobby knife.

The trick would be sculpting the back side without ruining the front side.

A few Deathwing players would also like plastic feathers for that old-school 'Native American' look. An article in WD316 (great Deathwing conversions btw) mentioned that a Lizardman sprue was the only plastic feather source he could find.

I scavenged through a buddy's bitz box over the weekend, and indeed the lizardman saurus command sprue is an excellent source for feathers.  There is a serpent standard on the sprue that is loaded with excellent feathers that would work well for any sort of new world native look.  I also ordered the plastic pegasus wings sprue and will see whether the outermost feathers can be clipped off and utilized, as it could be a little bit cheaper than buying the lizardman command sprue.

the High Elf archer sprue has quite a few feathers also, I believe.
