Does anyone use square stencils for the checkered design for Goff Orks? What do you use to help edge your lines? tape? Got a dread and a Bomba I am going to paint so if anyone has any advice on those techniques I'm all ears. Thanks!

I've seen it done by using small squares of masking tape (you can also buy these pre-cut on sheets). For large areas, this isn't a bad idea - however masks like this tend to work better with airbrushing than hand painting. If you're hand painting, I suggest drawing the grid with pencil first. A good trick it to use a piece of plasticard strip as a flexible ruler.

I do my checkerboards on Orks with a fine tip marker. Pretty easy to find in any craft store. I then use that pen to freehand the lines and fill in the squares of the checkerboard. I don't have any photos right now, but it comes out looking pretty decent. I have a feeling it is less work that any kind of stencil or masking method. I will try to post pics later this evening.

Here is a pic of my checkerboard. Sorry about the glare. The quality is basically the same if used on a shoulder pad or piece of armor.
