Just got these guys in the mail today. I'm slowly building an Imperial guard army and really wanted some Scions because I think they look awesome. It's too dark and cold to prime them tonight, so I'll be starting tomorrow.

I want them to sort of match my Cadians so I'll be painting them similar to how they look on GW's site but I'll be swapping out the blue with green.

Here's my unit of Cadians I recently finished:

Went to a GW store to pick up a few more paints, left with another box of Tempestus Scions and a Officio Prefectus Commissar. I need to stop bringing my wallet into the store and bring cash only!

Not converted normal scions and a box of scions are no reason for a topic

If he wants to show his painted models, that's fine. Personally, there aren't nearly enough of these P&M blogs for scions anyway, and those cadians look ace.

I have to agree. If someone is happy and feels like sharing both the minis and his plans, they should be more than welcome to.

Besides, those minis are so gorgeous, they never get old

Saw your Cadians earlier, very nicely done! I'm curious to see the final result with the Tempestus

I do love those models...

One question though, you seem to have assembled them exactly as the image on the box shows. Was that personal choice, or is it more to do with the models only capable of being assembled in that way?

I'm looking at using these as a base for an inquisitors retinue, and if they're effectively monopose I may be less inclined to use them.

Thanks!

You can pose them differently. But, the way the piping from the hot-shot lasguns connects to the backpack is kind of weird. Certain rifles fit with certain backpacks. Or else they won't match up. I'll try and assembly my next set completely different. If you get a pack of Scions make sure you look at the instructions before you cut the parts off the sprues, because it shows which rifle lines up best with each backpack.

Finally finished one of them. I think I got the color scheme down, just need to do the others a little neater. Not sure if I like the way the wrist thing turned out. Might change that up somehow.

Hopefully it'll look much better when they're all painted:

Looking good, that colour scheme works really well on the scions.

Finished the first five Scions. Five more to go. Also, since I have all of the bits to make a command squad, minus the torso/legs/backpacks I just bought some on Ebay. Paid about $7 for 5 torsos/legs/backpacks.
