Just trying to look at stuff on the GW website because I haven't looked at it for a while and I can't zoom in on any pictures anymore except for a dumb little magnifying glass circle thing that is TINY! Seriously, who thought that would be helpful?
I guess I'll just have to stick with looking in one of the 3 rulebooks for the pictures because they're the exact ones from the web anyway. oooooooooooooh! snap..

Yes, it is extremely awful. Apparently it can be expanded with the mousewheel, but I don't have one (the mouse on my PC has a broken wheel and my other computer is a laptop)!

Everything about the new webstore is pretty bad. Apparently it cost four million pounds to do.

The more annoying thing is that using the previous system you could right click on an image and click "open link in new tab" and it would just give you the larger version instead of the stupid little zoom box.

Now that doesn't work.

Why GW insists on making things worse, I have no idea.

It's amazingly bad.

The more cynical part of me would think it is intentional because you'd get the occasional model slip onto the site that really doesn't stand up to the zoom function with the current painting team.
A more rational theory would be it was always supposed to be like that but it wasn't implemented when the site went up, the old zoom function seemed kinda random.

The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.

Hover your cursor over the image, press and hold LMB, drag the image onto the address bar, let go. Save the image onto your drive and open in an image viewer or simply use Image Zoom or equivalent to zoom in. Voila!

The website actually has a hidden higher resolution image that is what you see when you zoom with the stupid circle thingy. What you describe just increases the size of the low resolution image so there's not much point doing that (it's also a pain in the arse).

Also your method is excessively long. Just right click on the image and click "copy image" and then paste it in to your favourite image editor to zoom (but you're still only going to get a low quality version).

I find it kinda funny when you describe a pretty long annoying procedure and then finish it with....."Viola!"

I feel as if I should make a joke consisting Trazyn the Infinite collection plus Vulkans skills combined forge the narrative by making a giant magnifying glass to fix the website but, that'd just be shameless.

Oh my god. IT WORKS.

That is absolutely stupid, why the hell does it not just open at the largest size? How the hell am I supposed to know to do that? What do people on phones and tablets do?

I may be so accustomed to it, it takes me like 2 seconds per image, but YMMV.

I just discovered that if you left-click on the image to bring up the magnifying glass, you can then right-click and choose "View Background Image" to display the high-resolution version.
