It's hit and miss all over the place, the main beast looks flat the skin looks like play'do to me. I would add a few different layers of green on him. The green on the armor for the big dude in back is dull and lacks detail. It's like you hit some spots and pulled the detail out and then left most parts alone. If you where to just pull the detail out of the face, that alone would make a big diff.

See if you can't get a picture in more even lighting. I have a feeling that much of any perceived "flatness" may be a result of the high contrast of the natural shadows sucking the contrast out of any painted ones.

That said, it does look to me like you have a ton of tonal variation at a relatively consistent value, which may warrant further highlighting, but it's hard to be sure without knowing exactly what is painted and what is a result of the lighting. Generally speaking, the larger the surface, the more subtle you can afford to be with painted lighting effects, but you don't want to take that so far as to lose definition. I think (or at least hope ) that's what SheSpits was getting at, in somewhat blunter form.

I know each one has a name, but I don't know them. The main BIG beast needs some detailing work on the green. I'm not sure if you primed black, in certain spots it almost looks like black is bleeding through. The green looks really watered down then washed with nolin oil and spots of the original green brushed on in certain spots. The horns looks great and a few other things.

I think the lighting may be an issue - howevr with the base it looks like you have stuck static grass stright to it.

Peronsally i would pull this off, add some sand and gravel mix dry brush this up using whatever theme you want then strategically place patches of the grass. At the moment its very flat

The below just some simple examples that can help it look a lot better without really doing much work to it

Ya I think I need to fix the base some right now thats kinda what my friends board looks like so I figured wtf. But once I get my plague board... hehe lol.

I think the lighting must be a issue because it was primed white, based catchcan green "what ever it is called now" air brushed red in several spots"which is what I think he is talking about as primer" then about 5 or 6 more variants of green. There is not even oil on his skin just horns lol. Plus I tend to take pictures less then a couple inches away where most other people usually do about 10+ inches so I think it picks things up the human eye can't.

Maybe better pics.
