I'm interested in producing a 'leaping' pose for one of my space wolves; he's a lone wolf in power armor armed with storm shield and a wolf claw. He's essentially gone as 'wolfy' as one can go-the iconic wolf face helmet (although will possibly be switching this for a bare head and placing the helmet on the base with some battle damage, showing that he's torn it off in rage), the pelt running down the back. I've altered the storm shield from the pack so that it goes on the right arm rather than the left, because I feel that the left wolf claw arm has more options open to it-given the positioning of the elbow on the right arm, there are only so many poses which work.

Does anyone have any advice for making him appear as though he is leaping towards an enemy, perhaps intending to shield-bash them before tearing into them? The base is yet to be designed, and I know that how he is based might lend itself to a 'leaping' pose, so I'm open to suggestions here as well.

If your willing to test your abilities, try cutting the leg porition and green stuffing it so it seems like he is pushing off his leg with his right knee up, similar to a basketball layup jump, only angled forward. Then extend his left arm up and out like hes coming down on an enemy.

You should also post an intro to avoid the banhammer.

Try bits ordering some assault marine or blood angels legs.
If not it'll be a case of a jewellers saw and a bit of greenstuff.

I have (had? have to check, I seem to remember assembling some assault marines recently, so maybe they're gone) some assault marine legs, but while these are different legs, they don't really seem to be 'leaping', I think they look more like they're running-this may rely on how one presents the rest of the pose and bases, I suppose.

I have no problems with trying to cut and fill out; I've done some minor conversions already and am getting more confident with it.

Try a vanguard or assult marine kit.

If you want more leap, try using the basing to give the pose you want if its a small adjustment needed.

Just a precaution. Seems like every single forum im ever on has that rule. Just playing it safe really. If it doesnt exist here, the my fault for thinking that. Totally my bad if I came across as a jerk.

i find jumping poses look best when jumping or pushing off an object. maybe make a small cliff on your base, or even some jutting bits of sprue of detritus. that way you can pin the foot, so it has minimum contact with the base but with a fairly strong bond, and gives it the dynamic of jumping.

I found old tank track or such panels or plates work fairly well. Also makes a better surface for mounting upon.

Some have good flat sections which aid glueing.
