Im trying to make a list that can utilize chaos cultists for more than just placeholding. Let me know what you think.

HQ

Chaos Sorcerer, M/Slaanesh, +Mastery Level, Spell Familiar - 115pts

Troops

Cultists x 30, M/Slaanesh, FLamer x3, Shotgun - 177pts

Cultists x 30, M/Slaanesh, FLamer x3, shotgun - 177pts

Elites

Terminators x 5, M/Slaanesh, Land Raider - 397pts

Noise Marines x 5, BlasterMaster, SonicBlaster x3 - 134pts

The basic Idea I had for this list was, at this many points your enemy is going to be limited in the amount of heavy weapons they can bring to the field (Whether they be Anti troop or Anti Vehicle). And using this many cultists charging down the board with a sorcerer in tow, makes them quite scary (atleast in my opinion, if the sorc gets the right spell off they can have 60 attacks, or 30 boosted ones, minus casualties of course, BUT THATS WHY THERES TWO OF THEM). The land raider will be in tow to smash into the enemy first before the cultists do. So the enemy will have to choose where to divide their fire, softening the 60 cultists, or taking out the land raider. All while taking fire from the noise marines, which will be targeting heavy weapons with that 48" blast master.

Thoughts?

A way I've found to make use of cultists is to max the squad out and use as an escort to Abaddon or a Juggerlord with AoBF. Abaddon with 35 ablative wounds is nasty and it still takes a fair bit of firepower to kill all those cultists and if they get into cc they will have plenty of attacks themselves.

Also Abaddon or a Lord give the cultist blob Fearless and Counter Attack

Good list just have problems similar to mine in that your cultists blob without the sorc will run away and the sorc isn't fearless on the other blob. Worth taking that risk I think though. You could take a Helcult to make the cultists fearless but then you'd still need two troops. Or you could take a legacy from IA13 which makes Culists within 12" fearless.

Like others said. Lack of fearless is a deal breaker on this. You can take 7-8 casualties in a shooting phase and watch your cultist blob (even the sorc one) run away.

An army with decent shooting will have you running off the board before you can get into cc.

MOS is ok on cultist you are swinging at the same time as MEQ.

You dont need sonic blasters on small noise marine squad that will camp with a blast master.

If you go against a shooty army you are in trouble, or if you deploy in any way other then dawn of war. Hammer and anvil especially will ruin your day.
