Hey guys

So I am trying to build my first plague marine army, and decided to start off with a couple of 7 man plague marine squads, and a Daemon Prince as my HQ.
The confusion? Plague marines count as elites. I have read in other forums that a chaos lord will allow you to take one elite as a troop choice, and that typhus will allow you to take 2 elites as troop choices. I have gone through the CSM codex and haven't found any mention of this.
So my question, what exactly allows for an elite to become a troop? Is it the mark of chaos? And also, what about a Daemon Prince, would the same rules apply to him, allowing me to take two squads of plague marines as troops with my Daemon Prince of Nurgle?

Ah, thanks. I do see that now. I feel like an idiot. Haha.
But what about the Daemon Prince? I have noticed that in other army lists people will have a Daemon Prince of Nurgle as their HQ and still have plague marines as their troop choices. But I am not seeing anything where it allows for a DP to do this as well.

Can't find a rule that doesn't exist. Those people are making an assumption without checking.

Just checking that they mean Plague Marines specifically rather than just CSM with the Mark of Nurgle?

A daemon prince can't. They're either listing it wrong, you're reading it wrong, or they included Typhus or a chaos lord somewhere that you didn't see. That's the only way to get plaguemarines as troops.

As mentioned above, CSM or Typhus or no Plague Troops.
For the record, glhf with Plague Marines. They're awesome, units of 7 ftw!
