While rummaging through my model collection finding suitable models for an Undead army, I discovered that I have twentyfive Werewolves. From what battle reports and army lists I've seen it appears that most people field a unit, or two, of three models. They seem pretty beastly, so why don't people field them in large numbers ?

A full army of Werewolves is devastating. I think most people don't do it because KoW is about skill but not being TFG, and there's kind of an unspoken agreement that all Werewolves or all Drakon riders make you as close to a TFG as this game gets. Personally, my friends who play it DO play hard, as that's the preference here, and the all WW army absolutely murdered the other player in about 15 minutes. And they were both long time WHFB players.

I'd say 2 units of 6 will be pretty amazing for you, but won't drive away friends. If you have buddies who play hard though, run the wolves to their highest number.

Also, how far is New Bedford from the Connecticut border? I have family up near Guilford, CT, and if we're talking an hour to an hour and a half, I'd be happy to meet up for a game with ya!

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Thank you for the reply.

So I defitnely shouldn't whip out an all Werewolf force with the KoW neophytes I'm trying to recruit.

That's a shame really, Miniatures Market is running a Black Friday sale with 25 Confrontation Wolfen for $25 and I just bought another 50

If you're not familiar with them, those are 40mm bases.

New Bedford, MA and Guilford, CT are about 2 hours drive apart. Maybe some time after the holidays we can meet at a gaming shop half way, and I promise not bring all werewolves.

Sounds good to me. I'll try not to bring dwarves artillery. Lol. Actually, I'd be likely to bring a well rounded mix of ogres.

We should plan for 2 games then.

Game 1 - Werewolves verses Dwarven Artillery Line

15 mintues later

Game 2 - Regular Undead verses Ogres

Oh, use the Wolfen as an Ogre army. That is my plan.

the Wolfen w/ double blades are perfect as Ogre Berserker Braves.
the Wolfen w/ spears = Crossbow Ogres.
Throne of Stars Hero Box = Warlock and Captain

Ogres are covered. I own more GW, Heroquest, Reaper, D&D, Mage Knight, and Chainmail, Ogres than sanity should allow.

When the D&D Chainmail miniatures game went from metal to plastics I got a case wholesale. Have 35+ Chainmail Ogres that have just been collecting dust, because they didn't look like GW ogres. With KoW I'm going to finally get use out tons of OOP miniatures.

I was rummaging through dusty boxes for hours last night finding forgotten treasure.

Adam, two games sound great! The 15 minute that'll end either when or if you get to me, then the real game. Lol. Bring on the furry dog men!!

The KoW rulebook doesn't mention what size bases for Large Infantry.

Sholuld Werewolves for KoW be mounted on 40mm bases ?

EDIT: Nevermind, I checked the Mantic Webiste and they list the size of the included bases.
