So did GW not pay attention to Zooming Flyer rule that says Zooming Flyers can not be hit be blasts, or is Skyblast just badly written rules wise? The intent is pretty clear, that Mucoloids can assault Zooming Flyers and hit them. How ever I don't see in Skyblast were it actually over rules that Zooming flyers can not be hit by blasts, just says that any hits are resolved against side armor.

the rules in the mucoloid's entry clearly spell out the intention and how it works.
the blast from spores is actually considered more a melee attack than a shooting blast so it sort of overrides the hard to hit anyway.

General Rule < Advanced Rule
Because the Mucolid's rule is explicit in allowing it to do something normally prohibited, it wins over the restriction.
In fact, it's more like - General Permission (units can assault other units) < Advanced Restriction (units cannot assault a Zooming Flyer) < Advanced Permission (Mucolids can assault Zooming Flyers).
Refer to "Basic versus Advanced", p13 of the Rulebook.

The fact Mucoloids can assault Zooming Flyers is clearly spelled out, but the attack is a Large Blast as Mucoloids do not make CC attacks per the Massive Floating Bomb via the Floating Death rule.
" Spore Mines do not attack in close combat. Instead, at the Initiative 10 step, the entire cluster detonates! To resolve this, centre the large blast marker over any one of the unit’s Spore Mines."
This is the bit I am wondering about. Yes, I understand the intent, but I am curious if RAW it actually does. RAW it appears the Mucoloid can assault the Zooming Flyer BvA, but can't actually hurt the Zooming Flyer as nothing in the Massive Floating Bomb or Skyblast overrides the Hard to Hit rule "Template and Blast weapons, and any other attacks that don’t roll To Hit, cannot hit Zooming Flyers." The "sort of" is why I am curious if RAW the rule fails to actually do the obvious intent.

The explosion isn't a Blast weapon. And the rule explicitly allows hitting Zooming Flyers.

I agree 100% with this point you are making. I don't see Blast USR on the spores, only the use of the blast marker to resolve the effect. Though, I am having trouble finding the roll to hit that the spores would seem to require to be able to hit a Zooming Flyer, which is where the real problem lies. But as you note, the advanced Skyblast rule explicitly makes it possible and gives explicit permission and thus hammers over the roll to hit requirement.

Skyblast:
No problem there, the marker auto hits if the assault is successful. Autohits are also denied by hard to hit. You need to look at Floating Death to see how it is resolved. Short version is if the assault is successful at I10 it goes boom.

Huh, your are correct I was thinking it was a Blast weapon as the Launcher and Cysts are specifically Blast, but Floating Death while using the blast marker is not itself a Blast weapon. That is the piece I was missing.
