I got a bit excited because I'm getting some forge world Horus Heresy stuff just before Christmas so I went through my bitz box and assembled an astartes from the Sons of Horus

I think he turned out quite well, better than I expected anyway, apart from the face, I was never good at painting faces.
I think this is a good time to talk about our paint commissions, set in Northern Ireland and only set up recently, we are looking for models to paint. This isn't our highest standard, I just did this quickly. You can check our Facebook page with the link in this posts signature or send me a PM.
Thanks

Yeah, in the following link you can see that they're traditionally more of a light-green pearl colour:

That said, a wash is not the way to go. The much-overlooked glaze range actually has what I think is exactly what you need!

Glaze paints do the opposite of washes. Where washes darker, glaze paints highlight to a shine. I think that if you treat the green you have painted on as a basecoat, the glaze will finish it perfectly for you.

There are only four colours in the glaze range too, so count yourself lucky that there's one there for you! Waywatcher Green is the colour you want.

You can see in the following links what Waywatcher green will do to a model. Use it sparingly and don't just lather it all over the model like you could do with a wash:

https://www.google.ie/search?q=waywatcher+green&espv=2&biw=1242&bih=585&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=2O55VJSCI-jX7Qb4-IDYDg&ved=0CB8QsAQ

Just build up the coats gradually until you reach a nice pearl-y colour and it'll look nice.

Minor quibble, but generally the studded shoulder pads would be on the left hand side during the heresy era. Also, he looks like a Dark Angel more than SoH IMO. SoH armour was a lot lighter than this.

I thought heresy era dark angels wore black armour. But yeah, I forgot I had a studded shoulder so I put it on after the other one was on.
