It's that time again, two lists have me torn. I think #1 is by far the better all around contender, whereas list #2 is just pure Anti Armor carnage (Iron Hands, Knights, etc). So many struggles. Oh the diversity!

Strategy
Overall, its a combination of trap door spider on the backfield while suppressing the enemy in their backfield and holding them there as long as possible (Flyrants + LAN Pinning).

LIST #1: Pie plate hellstorm (14 total, 10 pinning). Very heavy on anti-infantry, lacking on AV13+. Malanthrope & Gants are to provide the LAN a 3+ cover save at all times. Barrage sniping.
LIST #2: Anti-Armor (Hierodule). Malanthrope & Hormagants for constant 3+ cover and quick moving (all 3 together). Biovores or Tyrannocyte with x5 BS is the next struggle for proper anti-infantry. Biovores don't keep up with the 12" move, the Tyrannocyte is delayed by a turn (BS scatter doesnt matter, as biovores are just as unpredictable BUT have spores). BS on pod has Pinning for backfield suppression vs the spore mines.

Both look very nice! The second is a little "unfriendly" though. At low point levels a Gargantuan is a unsolvable problem for some...

It looks like your spending around 285 on the Tyranofex+ Pod...you might add AT into list one by replacing Tyranno+ Pod with twin Dakkafexen.. for 15 more points, you'll have two sources of high volume shooting, that can wreck most any AV that strays too close. So you might like to test it out for a couple of games and see which you like the best.

The will of the hive is always the same: HUNGER

Haha, unfriendly is fun for a Tyranid player to show up and be called "cheesy". Yea, I am totally not sold on the Fex/Pod, its so damn expensive for questionable gains. Dakkafexen are always rad but getting them into 18" range is always a trick and would require breaking my trap door backfield up.

However, that's twice the threat priority for my opponent...hmmm.
