When I heard about the Legacies of Ruin it sounded like they could only be taken on vehicles from Imperial Armour Volume 13 but I can't find anything that says so - only that vehicles from the Chaos Space Marines codex and it's supplements can take them. So I guess that Land Raiders are very good choices for the Legacies as the Legacies will be cheap and hard to take out. If the Land Raider is on it's own or carry a rather cheap unit the enemy will have a rather difficult choice when choosing where to use the anti tank fire.

I try to follow the background as much as possible so I thought about an Iron Warrior army with Khorne Daemons could include a Land Raider with the Legacy which grant +1 to the Invulnerable save of Daemons of Khorne which transport 10 Bloodletters and which is flanked by a Soul Grinder of Khorne and a Blood Slaughterer could be an interesting force to send forth.

But what do you think - did the Godhammer Land Raiders get an additional purpose?

Though the corrupted Space Marines of the Traitor Legions make excellent champions for the gods of Chaos, they are not pawns and have their own agendas of vengeance, empire-building vindication or arcane study which gives them purpose.

Land Raiders are still not good, and any legacy you can put on it you can put on a better vehicle like the Fire Raptor, Sicarian, or Spartan Assault Tank.

But if we're talking about the Legacy which grant the +1 to the Invulnerable save of Daemons of Khorne then flyers won't do as we want the vehicle to be close to Daemons of Khorne which might be targeted. To compare the different tanks I would choose one which might not be targeted otherwise and which is hard to take out so the Spartan would work even better of course but if the unit transported is bigger accordingly to the Spartan Assault tank then we're also talking about quite more points and maybe too much of a fire magnet no matter what.

Well a Land Raider with 10 Bloodletter is certainly awful because both are bad units, so if using the Spartan Assault tank doesn't work because it'd be a fire magnet then both are not good.

Also a huge flaw with the legacy is that it only affects models within 6", not units. so when your Khorne daemons go off to assault something you will probably leave the +1 invul bubble

You can take LoR on things from the standard Codex, but there's no good reason to do so unless you don't have the models.

A Spartan is typically cheaper than a normal land raider, has better guns and can transport more thing. You can make it melta immune and give it all kinds of other upgrades.

A Proteus has it's uses too. While it might be more expensive, it's nice when you can take an upgrade that makes anything shooting at it have to take a pinning test.

If you don't have the models for these guys, try proxying them with a normal Land Raider. You will find it's worth it.

The only uses I have figured out for that legacy are;
1) On a spartan to deliver a small unit of ablative bloodletters + heralds (these are the damage dealers) into assault, one herald takes the grimoire. You can then run a largish unit of blood slaughterers in front of it and Be'Lakor behind. Essentially Be'lakor makes the spartan invisible, the spartan keeps Be'lakor out of LoS, and the grimoire + Legacy make the Blood Slaughterers have a 2++ invulnerable. The hard part is you need some units of khorne hounds to keep the blood slaughterers on track.
2) Fire raptor on skyshield landing pad with ready to take off with 2 blood thirsters next to it. Essentially this is to protect the blood thirsters turn 1 from damage. They can all move forward just right to stay within 6" and keep the invulnerable boost if they need to.
3) Sicaran to follow around a greater brass scorpion.

I am not very convinced any of these are really worth the effort and points. The ability is neat but at 6" it is a novelty. It really should have been 12" or been allowed on a daemon engine.

(I hate this forum - nowhere else do I lose my posts as often as I do here)

Well the Bloodletters were just there to utilize the transport capability of the Land Raider. The reason why I chose the Land Raider was to have the Legacy of Ruin rule last as long as possible. My thought was to have 2-3 bigger near the Land Raider so Soul Grinders/Blood Slaughterers/Chaos Spined Beasts could benefit from the Legacy which gives a bonus to Daemons of Khorne while advancing towards the enemy - not so much smaller Daemons which would have to swarm the Land Raider.

The Spartan is 55 points more expensive though we can agree that it's 55 points well spend though my first idea was to keep it as cheap as possible while still have high endurance.
