small units in trukks, at least 2, in amongst other trukks you want to survive. people fear burnas so much that they make amazing distractions.

Between the price hike in the new codex and the rules change to Wound Allocation in 7th, they've taken a big knock.

Minimum squad with Max Mekboys in a Stompa, but Lootas can do this for 10pts cheaper.

A group behind a Promethium Relay is always great fun.

I like them with Mogrok's Mekboyz Formation. They can cause lots of potential damage with Outflank, even if all they do is force your opponent to change how he wanted to deploy. Or if the required Weirdboy is lucky enough to get Da Jump, attach him to the burnas and some other unit can outflank.

I did a fun trick with my burnas.

I put them in a truck with my Weird Boy. Paid to make the Weird Boy Level 2. Most times I get Da Jump as one of his powers.

Against tyraninds last game I debarked on turn 1 and started to try make Da Jump work. On turn 3 it happened that the opponent failed to Deny the Witch and I Jumped eight burnas, three meks and a Weird Boy (in a pear tree....) We landed perfectly and I managed to get about half the burnas at optimal range on a unit of his gaunts. Bye bye gaunt unit....

Of course his Flyrant managed to hit with whatever large blast thing he uses and bye by burnas.

But it was a glorious way to go. I think I came out on the losing end of that point wise but I taught him to FEAR the FLAME!!!

Everything will burn if you get it hot enough.

I think trukks with min squad and mek can try to get to enemy , or if you know youl face tons of infantry take em in bw with bunch of meks otherwise they are to expencive and nerfed in 7 ed

a 50 pt upgrade to a BW that would give burnas inside the Torrent rule would make them really awesome.
Other than it it's tough.

I have run them twice in 7th. Both times in a trukk with either 6 or 7 burnas, a mek and a weirdboy.

Against Eldar they were able to get off a charge against some wraithguard, and I opted not to use the burna but instead to use the AP3, and they ended up winning that combat!

Then they went over and unloaded 4 templats on a small squad of guardians hiding in ruins and pretty much wiped them out. The weird boy was able to make use of the Toughness Test power against Eldar.

Against Tau they took down a drone squad with their flames, but other than that really did nothing

It made me sad, because I got some burna bits and chopped the arms off some AOBR boyz to make some Burnaz. But when the new dex came out, they took a bit of a hit, and I haven't fielded them outside of using them for the 3 Mek upgrades I can tuck into a Stompa or Morkanaught.

You can still toss them in a Trukk and run around, though their glory days of a max squad burning things out of a Battle Wagon are long gone. They are great little models, so very Orky, but they lack any way to get into position to do their job reliably. And even then, most armies we face can shrug off burna wounds with ease. Most units we have can get around easier to make up for their squishy nature.

Storm Boyz have jet packs and can fly across the field quickly, and can be taken in a fricken 30 Boy squad now (Good lord...)

Tank Bustas, while squishy, have a far superior range than Burna Boyz, and can pop rockets left and right, or use Squigs that they throw out the back to get some good hits in on things.

Lootas make better mobile destructive forces in a BW with a Mega Armored Mek to keep them safe with a KFF and with their armored transport. (depending on how silly you feel like being)

Boyz can be taken in such an abundance of numbers, losing some doesn't really matter. And they are so cheap, allowing you to spam a LOT of trukks to bring small squads around, or just run up the field. (A luxury Burnas don't have)

Kommandos can scout around, or use Snikrot to appear out of no where, and can SOMETIMES get things done. Sometimes pop off a few shots or a couple templates and usually just redirect gunfire for the rest of the army for a turn.

I guess what I'm saying is...I don't bring Burnas anymore :( I don't have much of a spot for them. Their use is really limited (mostly hoard or opposing assault armys...which is rare). I'd rather use my elite slots for Tankbustas or Mega Nobz, who will always do something, while Burnas will 90% of the time be dead points.

Again, this is all my personal taste/experience. Other people's mileage may vary. I'm the only hoard army player in my meta, so burnas do very little for me now that their Burna Wagon build is pretty weak.

Burna wagon = dead deepstrikers.
Almost always pays for itself.
If you take the blitz formation....
- Burma wagon Scout 12. Move 6. Flame on.
- Megawagon. Scout 12. Move 12. Flat out.
- boy wagon. Scout 12. Move 12. Flat out.
