Ok, so I need a little help here.. I'm trying to build a list to be both competitive and fit a narrative I'm trying to tell.. and it's also the first Ork list I've built.

I'll set the stage:
Spoiler:

Lysander and his Command Squad are deploying to a planet that's been the target of a great Ork 'WAAGH!' to take out a specific enemy, and they sorta end up caught in the middle of things.. being the strategic Captain that he is, he decides to proceed as planned and use the oppressing Green Tide as the anvil to his hammer. There's also a group of scouts training and providing support as their last test before indoctrination into the ranks of the Astartes (I'll be using Sentinels of Terra).

I figured this could work because the Allied Detachment of Space Marines could provide support in areas they're good: air support, beefy HQs, and anti-tank; plus nothing has to deploy anywhere near the Green Tide, or even get near it.. So I think being 'come the apocalypse' allies is ok.

The problem is, I'm not sure exactly how to construct the Green Tide Formation and before I go buy the codex (and supplement?) I want to see if I'm even on the right track..so please any advice on the Ork part of the list is greatly appreciated!

Illegal list. Sorry bro.

GT doesn't include mad dok.
GT is 10x10 boyz. I know you have 100, so it's just semantics there. But no mad dok.

To field him you'll need allied Waaagh Ghaz detachment.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Oh to clarify:

GT Formation:

- 10x10 boyz
- 1 Warboss (can't be on a bike)

No attachments allowed except increasing # of Boyz, adding heavy weapons / gubbinz, upgrading up to 10 nobz. You get some special rules and restrictions. Have to accept or offer challenges w warlord. 'Ere we go. Waagh turns 2-7 every turn. You'll be hard pressed vs certain lists, but the tide is one of our MVPs.

Hmm ok. Do you think the Green Tide is worth fielding without the addition of FnP to it? I could do something like this:

HQ
Warboss - big boss pole, 'eavy armor, power klaw

Troops
Boyz (10) - nob w/ power klaw, boss pole, 'eavy armor
Boyz (10) - nob w/ power klaw
Boyz (10) - nob w/ power klaw
Boyz (10) - nob w/ power klaw
Boyz (10) - nob w/ power klaw
Boyz (10) - nob w/ power klaw
Boyz (10)
Boyz (10)
Boyz (10)
Boyz (10)

I'm just wondering if it's worth it without FnP, and also if it's a good idea to scatter some 4+ 'eavy armor bodies in there (maybe up front and around the Warboss for look-out sirs)?
