Hey everyone! I just wanted to see how you all feel about the Warhammer Armies project. http://warhammerarmiesproject.blogspot.com/

This is a collection of fanmade army books, from what I have seen, are quite balanced and look fun to play. That being said, I am curious to see what the general community has to say about these armies being used. Would you deny a friendly game of Warhammer Fantasy simply based on the armies not being official, or would you play against it? Have any of you allowed these armies in any FLGS tournaments?

Please let me know!

I personally love those fan made books. A great amount of variety, new rules you can use, there's nothing not to like.

I wouldn't care playing against someone in a friendly game. However I don't think everyone would play against them, and it's a definite no-no in a tournament.

I was a bit disappointed when they made the Kingdoms of Ind one. Recycling Hindu gods the way they did seemed pretty lazy, and maybe a bit disrespectful to that religion. When I heard about it I was originally hoping to be able to *build a god*, or at least have some level of customization or originality included. Pretty much everything in the Kingdoms of Ind one was lazy or recycled from one of his other codexes.

I was hugely impressed by the quality of these - both in terms of rules and layout/art.

I don't currently play WFB (only WFRP and other bits and pieces) but these were lovely to read. I passed it on to my club but the WFB players only really like using "official stuff" - sadly.

I love the updated old special characters and the Sartosa army.

I may field my corsair army as sartosa if my opponent allows.

Trade rules: lower rep trades ships 1st. - I ship within 2 business days, if it will be longer I will contact you & explain. - I will NOT lie on customs forms, it's a felony, do not ask me to mark sales as "gifts". Free shipping applies to contiguous US states.

There is not this idea.

I think that they're great, and I've had a lot of fun reading through them. I can't see them ever being ok in a tournament, unless the tournament organizers themselves gave it the ok.

A few of them are a bit too much of "we straight up lifted this from history with little to no editing", but that goes for some of the base game too.

If I had the money, I would totally try to make an Araby army, just for the style and design of the soldiers.
