Hey guys

So i ended up throwing myself into a bit of warhammer fantasy lately. Normally i play 40k but needed a break from it after too much playing and tourneys.

I've never played it before and just bought what i thought looked nice and i have started painting it.

Until now i bought The Pestilent Swarm box, a Warriors of Chaos battalion and Gurot Spume.

In our community we have embraced the End Times rules so i can basically play with anything i like withing chaos codicies.

My theme is Nurgle as i really love the new nurglish models and want to play with them.

So right now i can field:

1 Gutrot Spume
1 Maggoth Lord (haven't assembled him yet)
10 Plaguebearers
3 Nurglingswarms
3 Plague drones
5 Putrid Blightkings
20 Marauders
12 Chaos Warriors
5 Chaos Knights
10 Chaos Warhounds

So the big question stands... What should i go for next. I really haven't got a clue. I really want some beastmen or something, but should i get more plaguebearers?

I hope i wrote in the right section since its not about listbuilding. otherwise feel free to move or tell me to write the right place.

P.S. My husband just bought Nagash and a gakload of undead so i hope i can beat him up in April when we agreed to put 4000 pts fully painted on the table.

If you wanna get Beastmen, get Beastmen! I think Gors at least are relatively decent. With Fantasy, there isn't as much of a gap between good models and bad models.

If I was going to do a Chaos Legion force I think I'd use a lot of Beastmen. They're the most interesting to me thematically and the ability to take other cool Chaos monsters and stuff is awesome.

But I'm already sitting on a load of Elves and Undead stuff I need to get painted and playing, I cannot do another army...

Gors & Bestigors make great troops. But you will need at least 10 more plague bearers. 10 isn't enough.

Also doombulls are very fun, especially Tzeentch doombulls with 3+ ward saves.

Trade rules: lower rep trades ships 1st. - I ship within 2 business days, if it will be longer I will contact you & explain. - I will NOT lie on customs forms, it's a felony, do not ask me to mark sales as "gifts". Free shipping applies to contiguous US states.

Great!

Thanks for your reply.

Looking forward to order some gors and bestigors. They look like fun to paint as well. Just think i will go easy until i've painted the ones i already got. :-)

Gonna buy som more plaguebeares tho. I think it's easier to paint 20-30 at once than 10 at a time. *hugs the ol' airbrush"

Hi Sara welcome to Chaos Legions. I love Chaos and playing Chaos legions is probably the most fun I've had playing Warhammer in a long, long time. Sure people can abuse the combined army lists and take the fun out of the game but for me that's not in keeping with the spirit of the game.

With that said, I feel like BoC have great chaff and troop options like others have mentioned and I would take Gors over Plaguebearers since DoC have picked up unstable to take the place of DI. 40 Gors w/ ahw coupled with a Beast Banner BSB Wargor really gives you a solid infantry block that is durable (since they are -1 to hit thanks to the MoN) and punchy since they have 2 attacks each in the front rank at Strength 4 plus supporting (I would run them as a horde). Bestigors with a Beastlord and the Leadership banner to help ensure they pass their PF (Primal Fury) tests again provides another solid infantry block although this one is pretty expensive and doesn't come out of your core tax. Solo Razorgors, MoS Ungor Raiders, and Harpies give you solid chaff options that DoC and WoC don't really have.

I would steer clear of BM monsters as they are generally overcosted and can't take Marks. The one exception being Doombulls which are retardedly good and i've read stories on forums about them taking on and defeating entire horde units by themselves. Just make sure you screen them with something monstrous prior to getting them in CC if you go that route.

Really the BM Battalion is the best way to go cost wise since you get 20 Gors, 10 Bestigors, and 10 Ungors which you can turn into Ungor Raiders. I bought 2 Battalion boxes to get my BM component of CL going and it's worked out great for me so far!

Hope this helps good luck to you!
