Hey, first post here.
I'm getting back to the game after a break and decided to start up a new army since I'm not really interested in playing with Necrons anymore. Also, I'll leave min-maxing to role-playing games instead of army lists but I would still welcome any tips and possible improvements to this army I've been building up.

Pretty solid for casual, but always run Ravenwing in full squads or theyll get a lot of dakka in the face without doing anything.

If you can't believe in yourself, believe in me! Believe in the Dakka who believes in you! |

Firstly, welcome to Dakka!
Next, I suggest editing your post to remove the points costs from the individual upgrades - it's Dakka policy ( http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/281186.page) and helps avoid legal action. It also makes the list less cluttered and easier to read.
As for some actual advice, some units look in need of transport, particularly the Deathwing Knights (I do love the models, but they tend to get shot to kingdom-come if you deep strike them) but also the Tactical Squads (particularly if you're going to be playing Maelstrom missions). I'm also not sold on Plasma Pistols - they're expensive for something you'll only get one or two shots out of in all likelyhood (a combi-plasma is cheaper, gives you both shots at once and can also be used at longer ranges in a pinch. Doesn't gain you the extra attack in combat, so YMMV, but I generally avoid getting my Tacticals into combat).
You haven't got anything in the way of anti-air, and not much ranged anti-tank, but that's rather dependent on your local meta (i.e. what types of units your regular opponents bring).

Thanks for the policy info, should be better now.
What would you suggest cutting to make room for the transports and AT/ AA?
Edit: Please don't say terminators, I've always thought they are the coolest thing in the whole game!

Ok, so making the most of the Knights would ideally require a Land Raider, which would be rough to fit into a list this size, so we'll have to leave them deep striking (hopefully they'll land close enough to be a threat). Dropping the plasma pistols gets you almost an entire rhino alone (depends how you feel about dropping them), other than that, dropping a few spares from the Devastator squad is another way to generate spare points - you should have enough anti-infantry from the shooty- DW, RW and tac squads, so I'd give the Dev's Lascannons (including the one from the second tac squad) for anti-tank (and when Prescienced by the Librarian, a very basic anti-air. It's not something DA excel at without Forgeworld), either putting anti-infantry weapons (heavy bolters) back in or just leaving them without a heavy at all (leaving them mobile):
Company Master, Librarian, Deathwing & DW Knights, Ravenwing as your list.
Tactical (10), Plasma gun, Rhino - 190
Tactical (10), Meltagun, Sergeant with Combi-Melta, Rhino - 195
Devastator (8), 3 Lascannons - 172
It's a bit basic, and works out 1496 total. Not iron-clad but something to think about at least.

All right, thanks for the tips. What about exchanging the plasma pistols etc. for some AA missiles for the devastators and changing heavy bolters to lascannons?
Also, would Ravenwing Knights be better here instead of regular bikers? Those rad shells sound so nice since a friend of mine plays Tau and Dark Eldar. Instant Death bolters = fun times!
