So the idea is a highly mobile, super scoring objective secure army that can also bring a tonne of hurt on anyone (especially Eldar!) who might try to outscore by the end of the game. It's my first proper go at writing a Space Marines list and I've tried to include everything I love from playing others and make something that can win tournaments.

Oh. And no psykers!

Master of The Forge
Space Marine Bike, Combi Grav, Melta Bombs

Contemptor Mortis Dreadnought
2 x Kherres Pattern Assault Cannon

Scout Squad
Land Speeder Storm

Bike Squad - 2 x Grav Gun

Fire Raptor Gunship

Relic Sicaran

Relic Sicaran

LOW: Cerastus Knight Acheron

Obviously, it would depend on the mission, but generally I would outflank reserve the Scouts and Bikes (with MotF), leaving a wall of AV13 vs most armies, though I have the option of bubblewrapping with scouts and keeping the transports (which also have scout in reserve) against melta podding severity. I would be hard pushed to face this list in my meta. Single CAD, Single Codex, but... pretty intense?

Yeah this list is really cool.. Lots of Relics from the Armoury.

I like the dual Sicarans and Fire Raptor I feel you're light on AS except for the Acheron getting in close..maybe upgrade the Sicarans to have lascannons too (not sure though because that sounds expensive ha!)

Overall I've found great success with the scouts in speeders.. How do you prefer to equip them - bolters or do you capitalize on the fact that the transports are open topped and you can assault from them? Close combat weapons and somewhat bombs could be neat.

I'd been thinking of Bolters... I'll have a peek. AS? Not familiar... Anti superheavy? Don't forget that this Sicarans have Rending too. Had though about trying to squeeze legacies on them... maybe if be better with something other than the Fire Raptor to help with AS(uperheavy?). I don't really need it for AA as the sicarans do that v well.

Yeah sorry I meant anti tank. But anti superheavy works too ha

Well the Sicarans will each kill an A Barge, Serpent, Rhino, Razorback etc per turn. And the knight. And the grav guns of course.

I had been wondering if it was the right flier for this list. But I just love the model and all that crazy dakka...

Do you think I'd be better with some kind of durable lascannon platform instead of the contemptor dread? Or stormraven rather than Fire Raptor? But I love that model!!!

You can only have a single Relic Sicaran in 40k. I'd take out one of them and a pair of scout squads for Smashfether and a bike squad for him to hang with.

It'd give you a decent CC, something the list lacks.

Rule #1 is Look Cool.
Rule #2 is Do Cool S*%* Even If It's Tactically Inadvisable
Winning is something like Rule #17.

Yeah you're gonna want meltabombs or something on those scouts. You don't have much to deal with tanks/vehicles, especially a dedicated list like IG armor. Grav is just too unreliable for me. You are going to want a way to put some metla on something. Maybe an additional bike squad?

My problem with the Mortis Dreads with Kher Assault cannons is that they only have 24" range. which isn't quite enough to reach out and touch someone without putting them in a drop pod....

Hmm I like the Idea started tweaking and then it kinda got away from me. Anyway I ended up with this.

1850:

Primary Detach:

HQ: 90
Master of the Forge:

Troop: 125
Tactical Squad 5 man:
Meltagun:
Combi Melta:
Drop Pod:

Troop: 135
Tactical Squad 5 man:
Plasmagun:
Combi Plasma:
Drop Pod:

Fast attack:
Drop pod:

Heavy 1: 175
Relic Sicarn Battle Tank:
Lascannon Sponsons:

Heavy 2: 175
Relic Sicarn Battle Tank:
Lascannon Sponsons:

Heavy 3: 225
Fire Raptor Gunship:

Fortification: 80
Sky Shield Landing Pad:
Ready for Takeoff:

2nd Deatch:

HQ: 90
Master of the Forge:

Troop: 125
Tactical Squad 5 man:
Meltagun:
Combi Melta:
Drop Pod:

Troop: 135
Tactical Squad 5 man:
Plasmagun:
Combi Plasma:
Drop Pod:

Fast attack: 35
Drop pod:

Heavy 1: 175
Relic Sicarn Battle Tank:
Lascannon Sponsons:

Heavy 2: 175
Relic Sicarn Battle Tank:
Lascannon Sponsons:

Fortification: 75
Sky Shield Landing Pad:

Not as mobile as yours but packs a bit more punch I think. Also parking 2 sicrians each on the Pads gives them a 4+ invul with the MoFs right behind them to repair. That's pretty nasty Imo. Also if you have first turn you can start with your Fire-raptor on the field. But that can be risky as it must begin in hover mode:

Again this kinda got away from me developed to a much different list but thought you might like some of the ideas so I posted it.

Cool take on it. Been thinking about the anti tank thing a bit. Maybe Melta bike squad with Attack bike melta also. Or multi melta on storms. I like the score ability of the storms.

I thought only blood Angels and space wolves could take drop pods in FA?

I actually vote you go with the first list... as in the one at the top of this thread.

Mobility is invaluable with Maelstrom, and some eternal war missions.

What would you equip your storms with? You definitely need some melta, even 3 of them equipped with MM would be ace.

Yeah the idea was to make a marine list that was highly mobile obsec but not bike spam. Problem is. I'm maxed out at 1850 without any upgrades and with no sponsons on the sicarans. Agree that I need more anti tank. There is a lot of AV 13 about. More thought... Need to drop something. My head says that Contemptor, but I just got it!

Maybe drop the dread and get a skyshield for your fireraptor and upgrade the sponsons on those sicarans. Legacies of glory are good too for 20-40 points depending on the one you get.
