Hi folks, I have recently finished an ogre commission at Golem painting studios. I had a lot of fun with this one, doing the bases and the conversions for the characters.

Yeah, that rust is great. It is a nice effect with the snow, considering that metal would rust being exposed to that much snow.. if that was planned, you are a genius

Thanks for the nice comments, I probably should of mentioned the terrain was appropriated from GW manchester.

Yes the rust combined with snow was intentional, I did however use a rust style that is slightly more suited to dry/wet environments, than just constantly wet ones where you tend to get alot more dark patches on the rust. The change was simply a style choice.

The multi-banner was an idea i had for a bretonian army; where out on campaign the army would have collected all sorts of captured banners, and the Banner bearer would have them displayed as trophies.

The snow is Woodland Scenics soft snow flakes. You mix it with pva then paste it on, then give it a sprinkle in the snow afterwards.

The trick I find is to add height variations in the base, so rocks and grass tufts work very well.
