I bought a box of Glade Riders and I was wondering if I could get advice on how to assemble them.

It appears they can either hold bows or swords, and they have a spear on their back. I'm asking because I don't have the army book, and this is the first box of fantasy I have. No experience with this game whatsoever. Do they all have to have the same weapon or can I mix and match? Its 8 riders total and I would like to start painting them as soon as possible.

Someone in our gaming group recently gave me way too many 40k models, and I decided the least I could do was get him a few things for his new Warhammer army. So far he is building up on Eternal Guard and Dryads, so I picked up a box of Glade Riders for him, and I'm going to get them painted up as a thank you for all the 40k stuff. Thanks dakka.

You can build and paint them however you want, it won't make any difference rule-wise. No matter how they are modeled, they always come rule-wise with a Bow and Spear.

So build and paint them how you like, and when deciding on what parts to give them, the rule of cool trumps all.

All glade riders have a handweapon, a spear and a longbow (oh and a horse...). I tend to use the sword for my champion so he is a bit different.
