Last Thursday December 4th was the first night of a two night 4 game tournament.

This event is my first go at playing outside of a few friends and my son so I wanted to keep it simple. Plus taking these big boys seemed desirable.
Game 1:
Kenkirk: Decimator
Vessery : defender

We played a practice game before the event started and low and behold we got paired in round 1. I lost both games. In both games, I ran over Vessery remove his last hull point. His decimator was badly damaged both games as well but couldn’t finish him off. My ability to park on asteroids was my down fall.

Game 2:
Bandit Squadron Pilot (12) x 2
Tycho Celchu (26)
Keyan Farlander (29)
I don’t remember all his upgrade but he had heavy laser on the b-wing. It was a slug fest and my dice hit well on the first turns but went cold. At the end Farlander was down to 2 hull points with Chiraneau also down to two hull. We got into range 2 and I shot first. I only did one hull. I knew he had 4 target locked and focused dice coming my way so I triggered Vader killing both ships. Locking up the draw.

What would you say, would be the worst list a DD list coud face and why?

I would think a swarm of either headhunters or ties would doom a Double decimator list. 8 X 2damage dice is 16, the decimators without expose is only 6. That is a big difference in dice and the swarm (especially Ties) are very manueverable. It gets even worse when you add in range band 1 bonuses to attack.

good thing out of the ten lists there are no tie swarms.

he flew poorly and ended up with few shots and i lit him up at close range.
Win: wiped him out. I lost zero ships

He had more hull and shield points and more guns and played his rules nicely

lost: both decimators died. he lost tie fighter and doom shuttle.


ended up 6th out of ten which was good for my first time playing x-wing versus people that are not my 11 year old son.
