I´ve never had a xenos force, can you swap parts just like with Space Marines or does it take a lot of conversion work? I was thinking about getting a box of Necrons to convert me some Iron Hands.

For the most part, they are thinner and very distinctively necron. There are numerous companies (including Games-Workshop) that sell "upgrade" packs suitable for creating Iron Hands.

if you go ith necrons, you will have to be very damn specific. for example, the lower arm of a necron can be put onto a terminator, but if it isn't perfect, it will look wierd.

Necron parts are not compatible with space marine parts.

Necron infantry have parts that can be swapped around with other necron infantry if you want. Heads and guns or bodies can all be swapped around.

For Iron Hands marines, I recommend either the GW IH upgrade packs, the Forge world Heresy IH kits and character upgrade pack, and Anvil Enterprises' bionic sets.

Necrons are the only faction I don't collect, so I can't check a physical model. But just going by what I've seen, I think they would look too spindly :(

I really wish GW would make Iron Hands models. I would go nuts... as would my gaming piggy bank LOL
