So I am slowly building a Sisters army for my wife (at her request as she is needing a break from playing her Orks), and while doing so I keep noticing that it seems a perfect gap-filler for the very things my Grey Knights have been struggling with.

Does anyone have any experience running these together? Any hidden or notable synergies?

Just having access to relatively cheap OBSEC bodies, and Exorcists for AP1, and melta for armor-cracking, seems like it would do a tremendous amount of good.

I've had a blast running GK with SW allies, but am getting bored of drop-podding in my Cleansing Flame combat-squads of Purifiers. Its a neat trick but is only periodically worth-while, and beyond that my list-building just seems very rote. I feel like GK on their own do specific things very well, and then just lose objective-based games otherwise.

You could also add in Dominions (Scouts with Meltas with Ignore Cover) alongside the teleporting Dread Knight and the other fast moving GK units?

Exorcists would be a nice add on as you say and MSU Sisters in Immolators can be very useful for objective grabbing.

How does this look at 1850pts?

I'm compromising a little in terms of using models which we already own, but i'm not opposed to making a few purchases if needed.

I used to run Sisters and GK in the same SM army in 3rd, 4th, and early 5th, which had excellent synergy with each other. In 7th, both Sisters and GK benefit from each other's specialties, and make good allies for each other. Nothing like 16 Sisters disembarking from a Land Raider Crusader; the look on your opponent's face the first time is priceless. Or was, back in 4th when that was a good tactic.

Dozer blades on exorcist are probably not needed. With their 48" range, they almost never need to move much, especially into dangerous / difficult terrain.

I would put them on the immolator on the dominion squad and then the BSS squad.

I would swap the flamer immolator for a rhino. You don't really want to bring a vehicle that squishy that close to the enemy. The rhino also has 2 fire points for your meltas. You can use the 20 points to give the other squad meltas.

Got it.

Any other fun synergies? Not playing them (yet) I don't know a lot of what the Sister's characters/Priests unlock that might be useful to GKs.

The melta dominion squads outflanking in MM immolators is great backfield pressure to accompany NDKs and other GK deepstrikers, and excorcists are of course amazing for providing long range anti tank to a codex that desperately needs that support. My buddy ran Sisters, I ran GK and we built some pretty fun lists. One featured a land raider redeemer packing Repentia, a priest and if memory serves a GK librarian. Repentia tearing faces apart out of a durable assault vehicle with both war hymns and a boost in the form of invisibility or even sanctuary from the librarian is hilarious.

Being able to field nice cheap large squads of obsec sister blobs is also nice and can help hold down back- and midfield objectives. Or you can go for a fun themed army fielding squadrons of penitent engines alongside NDKs. Celestine is fun but her seraphim bodyguards tend to be very fragile for their cost and their heavy weapon squads whose name I can't remember are pretty lackluster, though a good source of heavy bolter support in a pinch.

'Nids uber alles. And GK I guess . . . them too.

Well, we have 50 assorted Sisters coming from Ebay now, along with some Immolators and Exorcists... so the war-gear they're modeled with with also inform what we can build.

I'm feeling really good about this though. My GK have consistantly felt incomplete on the table, so having a fluffy AND perfectly suited "second half" coming, feels right.

The last of longer range AP 1 and 2 was driving me insane, and the lack of bodies for objectives was making me lose even the best played games.

I usually run sisters with GKs and they definitely make for a more well rounded force so I have a few of notes for your sisters list:

A. St. Celestine. Not the best if you can't hide her in a fast moving unit (seraphim work best for this), T3 is just too fragile to be hanging out by herself and she's doing her best work when she's flitting around the table and Hit and Running soft targets. If you can't fit another squad then I'd just get a bare bones Canoness that you're ok with getting killed. Maybe put her in with the Dominions so she can give them stubborn and let them hang out mid field shooting their meltas. They'll probably be gone by turn 3 though.

B. Priests, priests, priests. One of the sister's best IC's so you should try to fit a couple in your list to ride with the basic sisters squads. This will make them awesome obj sec units that can hold objectives without being scared away. Also gives them the opportunity to be decent tarpit units, even when they're only 5 strong.

C. Immolators. Always put Multi Meltas on them, as a free upgrade they're just too good to pass up, especially since they're twin linked.

D. Battle Sisters Squad. This is more of a personal preference, but when I MSU them as objective holders I like to put Heavy Flamers on them. Great, cheap "Heavy" weapon that will go a long ways in shifting heavier infantry off of objective. A lot of people run the heavy flamer with a melta in order to give double threat.

E. Dominion Superior. Give that lady a Combi-melta. Four melta shots that ignore cover, scout, and then have a 18" threat range is one of the best alpha strikes in the game, so why not make it five?

F. Exorcist. I'd drop the dozer blades. The gun has such a huge range that you should hardly ever be moving it anyways. If anything I'd give them storm bolters first so that if you get a weapon destroyed result you'll have a chance at not losing your exorcist cannon.

I'd also consider running your Grey Knights as a Nemesis Strike force and Deep Striking the Termies turn one. I love the combination of scouting my dominions, shunting my dread knights and deep striking right into the enemy's deployment zone. Usually puts my opponent on the back heel right at the beginning of the game and lets my battle sister squads move around freely to claim mid field objectives. These are all just my opinion / play style though.

Thanks for that! It gives me a lot of fun options to consider, and exciting tools that make my GK suddenly feel a lot more fleshed out. I kind of wish these two dexes had been combined outright, as I would have felt a ton less constricted.

I've almost always run my GK as a Nemesis Strike Force doing what you described, but would rarely have "enough" things in any given list to provide a second wave threat and/or hold objectives. Exorcists, and all these other new options should really help with that!
