For Christmas I would like this...

http://mobile.harrods.com/mt/www.harrods.com/product/the-dalmore-paterson-collection/the-dalmore/000000000003488896?cat1=new-food-and-wine&cat2=new-wine-spirits

It's only a small dent in your finances, and I would enjoy it a whole lot more than some of your friends...

On a more serious note, I know from some of the recent threads on here that there are some whiskey fans on Dakka. But a million pounds for a bottle? That's fething outrageous...

That had better be some smoooooooooooth whiskey!

But if I were to get such a bottle, it certainly wouldn't be to give away! I might give a few VERY good friends a glass, but that's it!

Surely they could find a picture of it that isn't so... JPEG-y...

Unless it's just my screen where the picture of the bottle is essentially one large pixel.

EDIT: Ah, never mind, didn't spot it was on the mobile site.

EDIT 2: http://www.harrods.com/product/the-dalmore-paterson-collection/the-dalmore/000000000003488896?cat1=new-food-and-wine&cat2=new-wine-spirits - Desktop site.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

Think of all the boxed wine you could buy with that much money though.

Ok, but even my limited maths says that makes it around £80000 a bottle! £80k? That's 12 brand new Porsche 911's for feths sake...

It just blows my mind that someone out there will think 'I need that in my life'..

It blows my mind when some people are willing to spend monies on stars.......

Now.. i can see a massive corporation buying one of these. that's for sure. probably some flavor of middle eastern or Russian oil tycoons.

Not a bad deal for a cabinet, 12 hand made decanters and the twelve bottles.

Or I could spend the money on warhammer, it should be enough to buy a decent 2000 point force.

Wow, that's nuts. It's been proven that expensive liquor doesn't mean better.

One of my favourite ever experiments was when a group of social scientists took a bunch of cheap supermarket plonk, decanted it into bottles from super-rare and expensive vintage wine, and served both those and unmodified plonk bottles to a group of really snobby restaurant sommeliers and wine critics, who promptly swore blind that the supermarket plonk was akin to the vile squeezings from Satan's workout jockstrap, while the same supermarket plonk in fancy bottles was ambrosia flown to their table direct from Mount Olympus by angels. Even after they were told they point-blank refused to believe it was the same wine, hah.

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?
I have a blog now, evidently. Featuring the Alternative Mordheim Model Megalist.

"The language of modern British politics is meant to sound benign. But words do not mean what they seem to mean. 'Reform' actually means 'cut' or 'end'. 'Flexibility' really means 'exploit'. 'Prudence' really means 'don't invest'. And 'efficient'? That means whatever you want it to mean, usually 'cut'. All really mean 'keep wages low for the masses, taxes low for the rich, profits high for the corporations, and accept the decline in public services and amenities this will cause'." - Robin McAlpine from Common Weal
