So a couple of weeks ago I put this guy together with the intention of him being the most generic marine I could for the purpose of playing with weathering effects. I don't even remember why but I decided I'd do him up as a Blood Raven when I started him but was having too much fun with the reds to stop and fill in the pads with a cream. I followed my friend's advice and put all thought as to which chapter he was out of my head and just kept painting. In the end he's come out as a Blood Angel just in time for their release so i am quite happy with that. Anyway, it was just a fun project to try some things put but I'm curious what people think about him.

I know right off the bat my advice to myself would be to get a proper camera

Oh, I certainly vote with my dollar, but the problem is that that is not enough. The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.

Great effect for "playing around", also loving the base. I wouldnt recommend doing an army like this, it would take you ages unless you have WAAAY too much time on your hands . Keep up the good work.

If you can't believe in yourself, believe in me! Believe in the Dakka who believes in you!

I like the base! What size is it, though? Is that a 30mm rounded lip (PP) base?

The pastel effect on the armour makes him look really battle worn without going OTT on battle damage. I really like it.

Weathering is good but little details eyes and purity seal could have more done to them just a dab of wash but other than that looking great.

Yeah, I honestly just didn't feel like doing much with the details. I probably should have set it aside and come back for them or something.

Just a base I pulled out of my Secret Weapon bag of crap. I think it's actually 40mm and from some trench warfare line of theirs.

@Jonolikespie: I've found that if you put some Ceramite White in the eyes then use a glaze of Waywatcher Green. Makes them really pop.
