Using the Orks that came with the Stormclaw set what would be some good additions to get to a 750 or 1000 point list? I've thought about shoota boyz, deff dread, weirdboy, deffkoptas, lootas, and flashgitz. I'm new to the game and their are a lot of units to choose from. It''s ok if the list isn't exactly ideal, it's more important that I'm having fun while learning how to play. Below is the list from Stormclaw which is 525 points.

HQ
Grukk Face-Rippa: Git-rippa (Power klaw)Kombi with rokkit launcha, attack squig, bosspole

Elite
Nobz x5: sluggas and eavy armor
1 with choppa
1 with kombi-skorcha and ammo runt
2 with power klaw and BP

Troops
Gretchin x10 with grot blasta
Runtherd: slugga, grabba stick, squig

Heavy
Killa Kans x3
1 Kan klaw, grotzooka
1 Kan klaw, big shoota
1 Kan klaw, rokkit launcha

Start with boyz. They are the best Ork troops unit. You can fill out the rest of the force as you go along with units like Mega-Nobz, a transport or two and maybe a battle wagon. A Dakka-Jet also wont hurt, or a few of the Ork mek gunz like lobbas. The Sanctus Reach has a formation that Grukk can be attached to that might be worth looking into as well. A deff dread also compliments the kans nicely.

Its best to look into all of the options available and decide what you want to bring. Just keep in mind for Orks, the slot with the most competition for your attention will be the Heavy Support.

Babump. I'd like to stay away from green tide. I have a thing for vehicles so I might look into walkers or trucks.

Than you have a couple main ways of expanding.

Speed freaks - include lots of fast moving stuff with the centerpiece being 2+ battlewagonz supported by trucks, bikers and ranged support. Works great. Has a few useful formations to use like Blitz brigade for 5 scouting BW, bully boyz for 3*5 fearless meganobz that work nicely in a mechanised list and kaptain badrukk gitz that are mediocre in general but can work within a mechanised list.

Walker wall - includes lots of walkers. It's an awesome army, however, footslogging walkers are pretty meh within current ruleset and meta, so get ready to run into lots of hard-counters as AT weapons are cheap and easy to get for most enemies. Dreddmob formation can help you out as it gives walkers 'ere we go which is very handy. d3 HoW hits are a nice boost too.

Stompa - that's a whole different story. Works best with blobs of infantry that are fearless when close to it and protect it from close-ranged AT and mellee threats like IK that are 2 times cheaper but have good chances to kill it dead in mellee or Assault termies or anything invisible. Stompa itself is a reasonable superheavy walker overall.

However, that's all for larger games mostly. And speed freaks don't work with walkers cause they have different speed and as an ork player, timing is one of the most important factors for you.
Kanz are rather meh overall and are generally used just in dreadmob cause they're a mandatory requirement there. Out of a dread mob, they could be used with footsloggas. Probably fine for casual games when pushed at the flank away from anything that can be considered more or less AT.
