This is an idea for a list. I know it is lacking in AA.

HQ:
2x Captain w/ hand flamers

Elite:
1x Command Squad w/ 3x flamers, drop pod (Captains go here)

Troops:
6x Tactical Squads w/ heavy flamer, hand flamer, drop pod

Fast Attack:
3x Assault Sqauds w/ 2x melta, combi melta, drop pod

Heavy Support:
3x Baal predators w/ AC/HB

Total: 1850 Exactly

I know you have some melta and the baal predators but I feel high av will be a huge problem for this list. Also do you have anything to help your pods hit home? Any points you can shed to take a beacon? Seems decent.

That Command Squad is possibly the best way to give a Tau opponent slay the warlord and first blood turn 1. interceptor is you enemy with this sort of list.

I would consider taking just 1 captain with goodies to keep him alive.

Other than that its pretty effective IMHO.

All anyone wants in the world is to be accepted. Except me, i don't give a S%@t.

Having two Captains in the same drop Pod is a strange tought at least.
Even more so if they're armed with nothing but Hand flamers.

Please, do explain, why on Earth would you not take a single Priest instead. It's cheaper and actuall benefits you.

And what mixer86 said truly is a problem. Jump Packs and the wing Relic might solve the problem for you, but then you'll only arrive after turn one.

Yeah as others gave stated HQ is wasted. Baal Preds just give your opponent targets turn 1. Just not enough threat in the Pods. Assault marines are cheap special weapons but those slots should be empty pods so everything comes down together. Load up on command squads for FnP special weapon spam and toting a 3++ 1W tank for just 10 points.

Why not grab the 2nd Hand flamer on the Tac Squad Sergeants? If you're going to do it then do it properly.

I'm not a huge fan of hand flamers, myself. Or BA captains. I think this list has way more template weapons than you're actually like to need in a list where any chump guy charges at S5.
