I didn't know where this should go so off topic seemed like the place to stick it.
I recently picked up a new kindle fire as I have been using my phone as an e-reader for a considerable amount of time, I felt like I was due an upgrade. So I got it all set up perfectly fine and my instinctive reaction was to grab some Black Library eBooks and stick them on it. I've put a few other books on it and it all seemed simple enough. So I got some Black Library eBooks and then downloaded them in the .MOBI format (apparently thats what kindles use?) and stuck them on the kindle, (they went into the documents folder, which I don't really mind, but it'd be nice if they were books.)
The problem I'm having though is that 90% of the books don't seem to work, most crash as soon as I open them, the covers for the books are all garbled messes of the original covers and if I do get one to open it's pretty much unreadable. I was wondering if there is anything I have to do to make these books work, as I've put other .MOBI files into the kindle that work with no issue, it only seems to be BL books that give me these issues.
Do I need to convert them somehow or have I missed something glaringly obvious?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
