Hey there Dakka!

So after stripping all of my previously done Alpha Legionaires and getting a very minimal about of practice on my airbrush, I have decided it is time to re start my HH Alpha Legion. Some of you may have seen these on a couple of smaller forums recently as well.

I will be mostly using the FW scheme for the legion, but may change a couple of spots to "make them my own" such as a shoulder pad color, helmet color etc. As these two things are still in the air for what I will do with them. I plan on having a fairly extensive AL collection, with the ability to use any marine codex whether 30k or 40k.

Also included in this blog will be a few random marines from other legions (which will be used as lone wolves from the SW codex) and possibly some shattered legion members as well.

So without further ado some pics!

First attempt at the armor color. Due to my lacking airbrush skills all the Marines have come out slightly different shades, which I actually quite like as I find it fluffy.


Some WIP terminators (trying to emulate the scheme in HH book 3)



And a few regular marines with quickly half asset helmet options. Trying to decide between them. So far it is probably either white or the same teal as the armor. And will probably be convinced with a black (either jet black or a very dark metallic black using the same clear paints as the armor)

Nice execution of the FW scheme! Regarding helmets, I definitely like the same metallic color. Perhaps white to mark out Sergeants?

Good scene, I like the same teal for the helmets bt with maybe a white stripe to focus attention on the head.

I really like the paint job. While it looks like the paints for the blues and greens are a bit thick, I really like the texture they create.

Well, judging off of responses from a few sites the teal helmets seem to be the most popular. I really dug the suggestion of a white stripe though, I will have to give that a try!

@pekel If it was any other legion I would do a white helm for the Sargeant, but I would like to keep this fluffy and have all of them look as indistinguishable as I can. True to the nature of the legion. However, with that being said, they do sometimes mark things out like that, as it adds even more confusion when only done sometimes. So I may do some HQ's with a white helm

@techsoldaten a couple of the terminators do have a little bit of thick paint. Working with the Tamiya clear paints through an airbrush is a bit tricky. When I thinned them out more than when I did these guys the paint did not cover well at all and sometimes would "clump" together and look very patchy. How I'm doing it now seems better, just a matter of doing thinner layers on my part

As I am packing to move into a new home I figured I'd post a couple WIP's

First up an apothecary


Next up is my version of Kharn for if I ever use the CSM codex.



I am not sure about his right arm. Seems awkward how it is. Thinking I may need a different bare arm to go there.

And last up was going to be my Dynat until the pics of the official model showed up. So it will be a praetor or consul of some sorts. I really want to make him look the part. Ceremonial armor for when he could be posing as Alpharius basically. So please suggest things if you have ideas!
