This Is Where the Fish Lives

Since I have some downtime with commissions because of the holidays, I decided to go through my backlog and find nearly complete models and finish them off. Having recently completed my Cadre Fireblade, I moved on to some of my space marines that were collecting dust. I purchased this Master of Relics the week it was released to compliment my small army of Raptors and because it was my favorite if the space marine masters released with the Apocalypse rule book. I feel that this model fits the Raptors aesthetics pretty well and will look great with the rest of my Raptors in my display cabinet.

Comments and criticism welcomed as always!

OH-I Wanna get out of here

Always enjoy seeing your raptors. This guy is pretty cool, if not the most playable.

Thanks mate!

I don't really play; these models to straight into my display cabinet. However, I would probably just use him as a sergeant with a combi-bolter.

That's what the sculpt always looked like to me too. Seems to scream Devastator Sergeant, rather than Company Commander

Nicely done, but I find this to be maybe the most boring SM model ever made. Your painting though, is well done.

It just seems to hark back to the 2nd Edition days

Well, just think about it. Master of Relics. Sure, he's a Space Marine. But even as a superhuman super-soldier, he's pretty much a librarian (without the whole "bad ass psychic space-wizard" connotation) or museum curator. The sculptor nailed the drab expression and slightly doughy face, he just forgot the power pen and ceramite sweater vest.
