This may be a stupid question, but with Necrons apparently on the horizon, it would make sense that Chaos Space marines would be around the corner soon as well. But what happens to the supplements once the new codex comes out? Are they still usable, will they need to get FAQ'd? Or will it not make a difference?

Thoughts?

Good question, though at this point it is kind of hard to tell. I haven't seen this many current edition codices come out like this. Pretty soon we will probably see new editions of codices since a few of them are 6th edition and supplements might go the way of the dodo or get a new edition themselves.

If I remember correctly, once necrons get a hard codex they will focus on warhammer fantasy and leave 40k alone for a bit. Chaos marines shouldn't be getting a new one when theirs is hardly even old... That would be.. dumb

It may not be old but it's certainly behind the curve by a significant bit, I'm sure that GW isn't numb to that fact.

I would love to see a little break after 'Crons.

Unless something says otherwise, I would go with every book/dataslate/supplement is playable until it is superceded, included in a new rulebook, or until a new rulebook specifically states that it is deprecated.

They should nerf tau and eldar, then leave 40k alone for a bit.

And new greater daemon models.

See, I don't agree that Tau still need to get nerfed, their nerf came with 7th edition which killed both of their top tier lists in one go: Ovesa Star and Taudar. Right now I think they're still very competitive, but not nearly to the level that Eldar are sitting at.

That'd be nice, won't happen, but it'd be nice.

Really just FAQ Waveserpents and supporting fire.
