So, instead of trying to keep up with hardcopy books and the way they are selling out of stuff lately, I figure I will check into buying the ebook version. Less money and takes up less space. Anyway, started looking into the ebooks and have some questions....

Does anyone know what the difference is between the books on Games-workshop.com and blacklibrary.com? I understand there is both an interactive version and an eBook version on GW, however what is difference between the one on GW and the one on BL?

For example, the new Baal Shield Leviathan e-Book is $44.99 on BL and $59.99 on GW. I assume this is the e-Book version and is the same on both GW and BL but why the difference in price?

And I guess you can only buy the "Interactive" version from iTunes?

What exactly does the "Interactive" version give you? Is it worth it?

They are different file formats. Black library gives you mobi and ePub, while GW goes to the iBook store.

Personally, I (far) prefer the ePub version as you can open it on a PC, and, for me, that includes my Surface Pro 3 and Dell Venue 8. You can also use a variety of readers.

The other ones are basically iPad/iPhone only.

Also. Printability is a feature ibloke better about ePub/mobi.

The interactive versions have spinny pictures and flyouts and such. No different real content.

To me, interactive versions main draw is the ability to curse over special rules/gear for stats/explanation. Is it worth the extra couple bucks? maybe. Is it worth buying an iPad/iPhone? no. Its also worth noting that iBooks do not work on other apple products like macbooks etc.

Technically, it possible -- people screenshot all the rules pages off of eBooks and PDF (or ePub...) it. Frankly, the high digital books prices would be easier to swallow if you got both ePub AND iBook.

I think if you have an IPad already, the digital Interactive editions are good, they seem to be formatted a lot better. But obviously only really useful if you have an iPad. I couldn't imagine using a codex on my phone for a game.

Having said that I think all the digital editions should be much cheaper. They shouldn't be the same price as the physical codex (which is already too expensive anyway haha).

I have both kinds, and if you already have the I-device, I can't recommend the interactive versions enough. They are seriously great stuff.
