I am however disappointed in the measly 3 hull it has. This was supposed to be a match for voyager, but on the bright side at 26/24 points they can be run in packs. So I guess it evens out.

My Rav Laerst weeps at the sight of this ship.

If I remember correctly the hirogen ships were not very big but very hard to damage. Not very easy to interpret with simple ship stats. A tech upgrade to reduce damage would have givin them that feel.

I like Full Reverse, I really felt that kind of card should've been included with the scimitar, now I must have it!!!!

This ship looks like its all about out maneuvering your opponent with its elite talent and tech cards if its played right it could easily out maneuver any any other ships in the game. A also like that crew card.

I really like this preview, lots of options opening up for independants I think, the ship is pretty good what with battle stations and good sheilds def too

Anyone else notice that the Alpha Hirogen captain is NOT UNIQUE If this is not a misprint we could see this guy all over the place.

hes just a hirogen prime, so could very likely be correct,

think along the lines of the non unique tactical drone that allows attack re rolls.


but good notice! he will be my go to captain if hes not unique!

the other captain has a really sweet function too,

as does the crew who replaces a captain, I can see using him with a generic captain quite often as he is a very cheap lvl 7, and the lack of an elite talent slots isnt such a big deal.


esp with that lvl 8 captain haveing TWO elite talents, should be a lot of fun!

going to have a lot more stuff to work with for my KHANNNNNNNN builds, and its nice to FINALLY have some independant weapon options....

Both the captains and the crew are really good IMHO. This ship will be great for Khan.

Actually the same 5 shot torpedoes with BS conversion came in the retail Maquis Raider. There were also 4 shot plasma torpedoes in the Tholian ship.

oh tholian has plasma, and regular 5 shots in the purchasable maquis raider? frik i shoulda picked one up...

Yeah, I am glad the Hirogen comes with photons. I wanted some more independent ones, but I didn't want to buy a 3rd retail Maquis. I have 2 already and 2 of the one from the Collective. I can easily see myself picking up 2-3 of the Hirogen though.

I think at some point I may have to combine Cal Hudson and Turanj. 5 points for a captain skill 7 that adds 2 slots to the ship, makes all upgrades -1 and can add a damage to the first attack roll. I think that is pretty good

That was my thought too I'm starting to feel very conflicted about the faction thing though. Whilst separate factions really hurt the ccg at the addition of Voyager races, it just feels to me they should be - if Vulcans are.

With the exception of 8472, I think it is a matter of ships. It seems like WKs thinking is if it doesn't have more than one class of ship it goes into Independent. The Flagships help them highjack anything they want though

If that's true then how can the Bajorans be there own faction. They have two combat ships that I can think of and their both in the game. It seems like it would make more sense for them to be part of independent or federation instead of there own faction which will never be competitive because they don't have a high ship number.

Yeah, the Bajorans have 2 classes, scout ship and interceptor. They will have 3 named ships after next spring when the retail scout comes out. However I completely agree with you that they should have been folded into the Independent faction, same for the Kazon. I would not want to see them in the Federation though, 1) they never were in any canon series & 2) the feds have enough toys

Ferengi (forgot them ) and 8472 would be the exception to the one ship rule. Ferengi have enough content to make their own faction with only one ship. Though they are introducing shuttles in one of the next OPs so maybe the ferengi get one of those. 8472 make sense because they hated everyone.

I just realized it won't work. Hudson is skill 5 amd Turanj only works when you skill is 4 or below. He is still good to pair with any 0 point captain. If you are playing cross faction he would work well with Maxwell Burk or Benjamin Maxwell because they both have to be discarded for their abilities. Turanj could also be good with a lot of borg captains for when those drone tokens are all gone.
