They convinced the Alpha Legion to turn Traitor because they thought that it would ultimately result in the deaths of the Chaos Gods, but that obviously didn't happen. What do you think the Cabal will attempt next?

I can't even begin to imagine.
Hopefully nothing that results in the IoE losing two more Primarchs.

I think the Cabal 'lost' largely in part to the Legion trying for a 'third' outcome, being 'too clever by half' in the end and kind of not accomplishing, fully, anything for anyone.

It depends on what the Cabal really is and what their true motivations actually are.

I'm not convinced they're truly working for the ends they claim to be (or at least, not all of them are anyway) and some/all might secretly be tools of Chaos.

Considering their vision for the HH (Alpha Legion helps Horus => Horus wins => Wipes out humanity and eventually Chaos starves) turned out to either be wrong or may be a lie.

I wouldn't be surprised if they get wiped out during the Horus Heresy Black Library series. Goodness knows everyone and their brother seems to be betraying those guys these days, Alpharius included.

Hopefully they'll all kill themselves and leave us alone.
