I just got some gift cards for my birthday and am looking at further purchases. I am thinking either a Techmarine and a Predator or some bike squads with an attack bike. I currently play DA and have a decent size force of infantry, some dreads, land raiders, and vindicators. I only have 6 bikes and an attack bike but I kind of want to expand it for some outflanking or dakka banner shenanigans. Any thoughts?

You could get one of the Ravenwing Battleforces if you can find one. Comes with six bikes, an attack bike, and a land speeder. Otherwise you could get two boxes of Ravenwing Bikes. They are one of the coolest things about Dark Angels.

The Ravenwing Knights kit is very cool. You can either build the RW Command Squad or a small squad of RW Knights with plasma talons. Lots of really neat bits (including a banner bit) to customise any bikes you have unbuilt and the Knights are pretty good on the tabletop, too. Two boxes would make a max-sized squad.

Right on. I like the knights, but A) I don't necessarily want a full bike army and B) they're so expensive :/

I'm trying to stick with a normal machine/tactical list. Occassionally I'll throw in some Terminators, but I normally just run a lot of tacticals, some Dev squads and Dreadnoughts, and Land Raiders and Vindicators.

I have always wondered, however, about bikes. For some reason, they always felt disproportionately expensive.

Yeah. 3 bikes for $50 or 10 marines for $40.
