I've noticed the recent space hulk terminators actually look pretty nice. Has anyone decided to field them as part of their army? I think it would work mainly with BA, but probably vanilla SM too.

You mean Tactical Terminators?
They are meh.

They'll be part of my BA army. That plus Deathstorm will easily equal 1000pts, which is my normal 'new army' points amount. Having both a Flamer and an Assault Cannon means that Squad Lorenzo and Squad Alphaeus from Deathstorm have full members, plus a few extras. There's one Terminator with Lightning Claws and Sergeant Gideon with hammer and shield so you still need to buy an Assault Terminator Squad to get full use. Should give 13 or so Terminators with guns and 7 Assault Terminators plus a Terminator Captain and a Terminator Librarian if you buy Space Hulk, Deathstorm and a single Assault Termie box. With the new Blood Angels Archangel Detachment, plus some of the Formations, you can easily make an army out of this. Not a good one, but one nonetheless.

I use them with my BA, although I did have to build a single non-SH Termie to round them out to a full squad. They usually get combat squadded (HF in one, AC in the other) and led by the Librarian or Gideon as a Captain. I also attach Sang Priests to each if I have the slots to spare and my opponent permits me to use them in TDA at the old cost.

Or assault terminators. I bought 4 boxes of Space Hulk --- 1 for the game (even though I still have a 3rd edition), and 3 to have the specialist units of Terminators and extra models.

You get 1 thunderhammer/stormshield, 1 lightning claw, and 1 heavy flamer that are all useful; plus Lorenzo (the sergeant) is a nice unit that can be used. Also, the Calistarius model can be used for as a librarian in Terminator armor with a force axe.

The tactical guys are useful too -- you can use your terminator sprues to build other types of units, instead of bolter units.

Of course, now with the assault terminator box, the value proposition is different, from a strictly terminator standpoint... and it doesn't really change that terminators are great fluff units that look awesome, but are expensive and come up a bit short in utility.
