Old dog slowly getting back into the hobby here.

A lifelong fan of 40k, I have a copy of the original Rogue Trader rulebook I've owned from new, having got into the hobby about a year before the launch of 2nd edition. Had a three-thousand-point Space Wolves army during the 2nd-edition era, most of which now needs some major repair work and a good deal of which is no longer compatible with the codex.

I have a mania for converting. The only circumstances under which I'll paint something totally unmodified are if it's OOP and undamaged or if it's from a multipart plastic kit. Anything else is getting up close and personal with the craft knife, and the multipart plastics are probably going to go under the knife too. This may be why I'm somewhat better at converting than I am at painting, at which I am 'overenthusiastic amateur with pile of beat-up twenty-year-old minis'.

I like Space Wolves, Orks, varied Necromunda-related strangeness, and Grenadier's old Future Warriors sculpts.

Outside the hobby I'm a long-haired thirtysomething biker, former crab fisherman, heavy metal fan, airsofter, and aspiring writer from a tiny back-of-beyond village you've never heard of in the northwest of Scotland and I am currently listening to Alestorm.
