Ok so I am trying to find fluffy bits to support an Adeptus Mechanicus Armored Company style showing. I vaguely seem to remember reading about a mechanicus tank army fighting alongside a titan legion, I think maybe it was on gryphonne. Just trying to figure out if my idea for some figures has any basis in the story. Any help would be much appreciated.

THe Mechanicus has its own military branch, The Skittari, which covers practically every form of war you can imagine not just Titans.
They have tanks, cybernetic infantry, robots (under extreme supervision by the legio cybernetica), aircraft, you name it. The Mechanicus at full tilt are a force to be feared.
I remember book (I think it was simply called TItan or something) involving a massive battle between the Dark Mechanicus and loyal Mechanicus Titans. There were plenty of mentions of infantry and armored units that belonged to the mechanicus fighting alongside the Titans.
edit: I think it was called Titanicus, very good book.

Ok, thanks. I am wanting to build an armored company army but I thought it would be fun to paint it up and convert to be lemans russess and other tanks used by the Mechanicus. I will have to get that book to find out about whether skittarii or techpriest would command the tanks....

Cataphractii - The Cataphractii were the Skitarii's armour units. The Skitarii made use of everything from small armoured personnel carriers like the Chimera and Rhino to heavy combat walkers and super heavy tanks such as a Baneblade.
found this stuff.
I think the Tanks are commanded generally by Skitarii but the higher ups are tech priests and Magi. Sots not impossible for a Tank Commander to be either a Skitarii or Tech preist depending on his/her rank.

Like normal impirial tanks but jam packed with advanced tech that's not included in regular models.
ID expect all kinds of fancy extras, upgrades and such. They have lots of items too complex or expensive to add to regular mass produced units.
But not hard for them to maintain and afford.

Sgt. Vanden - OOC Hey, that was your doing. I didn't choose to fly in the "Dongerprise'.

FudgeDumper - It could be that you are just so uncomfortable with the idea of your chapters primarch having his way with a docile tyranid spore cyst, that you must deny they have any feelings at all. |

The short story "The Patient Hunter" details a Tau encounter with a Mechanicus army defending its forgeworld.
In it they used all the staples of imperial guard technology like the russ and baneblade, only they were more or less wired into their tanks in some cases.
