This is what I have so far.
It's a conversion, still being painted as you can see arm, bow missing mount is half done, horns missing.
The question!
Base composition. I'm really bad at doing bases, less so ones that require regimenting. I literally have no idea what to do for the basing
for this and the units that follow. I want to avoid doing mud..
Help? Links, advice very much
Second question!
The bow my elves are using are these
They go with the conversion rather well as they are designed to go with the chest piece. The flame-like look of them are also quite interesting
as my initial idea is to color the flame to help tell apart the different magic arrows the units will be firing. I.e blue for true shot, green for poison etc etc.
The only problem with it is getting around the lighting that goes with that. It's hard (for me) to paint any kind of flame without putting in the
OSL.
The problem with the
OSL is it will detract from the actual detail painted onto the miniature. I was wondering if painting the bow a metallic or wood style that would then have them having
very 'thorn' like looking bows as opposed to actual flame, the arrows then could be colored differently, like different types of wood as an alternative to flame. Maybe even metallic.
Generally looking for opinions on this or alternative ideas as, as much as I like
OSL its a bit painful to have to 'overwrite' wet blending and such already laid down.
Final question!
Is this too much for tabletop warhammer fantasy unit? I'm very ODC when it comes to painting and it takes me quite a long time.. a week I think with work and such in order to pump this out
and I'm ultimately going to need another 30 or more to do outside of characters (and ground troops...) I'm curious if anyone could give any tips on simplifying things a little if its needed.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Oh some advice on, or link reference for help on paining a horses head would be lovely also. (I now it isn't actually a horse)
