Hi there just new to the forums, I had previously done a bit lurking around -mainly looking for tips on painting. I used to play D&D and WFB many many years ago but life got in the way in my late teens- just as Warhammer 40,000 was making a huge impact. Around six months ago after getting fed up gaming (video-console and PC) I was looking for a new hobby to fill my time. I was reading the Song of Ice and fire books at the time and while looking something or other up on line came across the Dark Sword Game of Thrones miniature range by Dark Sword and instantly knew I wanted to get back into miniature painting and perhaps wargaming too. I bought some minis and while chatting to my local GW store manager developed an insatiable appetite of Warhammer 40K! I have been painting now for a good four or five months- painting up a very small Warriors of Chaos army before beginning and now exclusively playing a Dark Angel Army.I am loving every minute of it. I also enjoy watching The Vaults of Terra youtube videos and have posted a few things on their forums The Vox-Relay.Also reading the Warhammer 40K books especially those relating to The Horus Heresy. I look forwards to maybe contributing to Dakka Dakka and joining in with the many great threads here. Thanks for reading

Funny, I started in warhammer 40k and have transitioned into D&D and WHFB.

Thanks Warptide, I used to love D&D- there was a small group of us -all school mates. We got quite seriously into the game where we started with the basic set and ended up all quite powerful characters playing the advanced version. Our DM was a talented dude-who took us on many amazing journeys through quests he wrote himself.
What army do you play in WFB? I was a big Ork player back then- loved all things green and snotty lol I gave it another go and enjoyed it too recently with my little Chaos Army but the lure of 40K stole my interest in it although I'll probably get back into it later.

Just finished painting up a second hand Dreadnought over Christmas and now moving on to the last of my 2nd hand minis -five Black Reach Terminators who are getting a Deathwing paint job(had to get that offa my chest there lol)
Eagerly awaiting delivery of my airbrush kit- maybe tomorrow... (whistles the littlest hobo tune )
