Not 100% on the new rules but we have a pretty good idea of things. Wanting to finally have a T8 C'tan to bring back to the table, and really wanting to jive with that give infantry rerolls to 1 RP formation, I'm playing around with something like this:

HQ (615)
Olord WS/MSS/SW/PS/RO/Phylacc/Reroll Relic/Phaeron/TA

Orikan

RC
Chrono + God Schackle
2 x Haywiretek
Pulsetek

Troops (570)
5 x Warriors (Hayrwire)
5 x Warriors (Haywire)
5 x Warriors (Pulse)
+ GA
20 x Warriors (Chrono, Both HQs)

FA 60
3 Tesla Tomb Blades or Heavy Destroyer or 4 Scarabs

HS (400)
Mono
Mono

Conclave of the Burning One (355)
C'tan (Writhing Worldscape) (Grand Illusion)
+ Haywiretek
+ Pulsetek + Gaze of Flame

Should be 2k on the dot.

So you end up with an interesting combination of good old Angry Earth, A super survivable brick from the new CAD, a 3rd edition power C'tan with a brand new vehicle punching power that has a death range of 24" out of either of your Monos. Oh, and you get a couple of Solar Pulses out of the deal as well.

Pretty sure I'd have to run a Deciever for that Conclave. Grand Illusion of course, and WW always felt like a Deceiver power. Of course that Pulsetek+Haywire combo gives the unit anti vehicle punch at range the Deceiver never had.

Also notice the combination of Orikan, two Monos, two rather critical units (bricks and Conclave) and Grand Illusion. Pulling a Mono off the board and having it come in turn two with Orikan's help should definitely be on the table every deployment. Obviously getting 2 or 3 units to redeploy help things out considerably.

Fringe benefits of this list include the cascading layers of cover and LOS protection the units can provide for each other, and nifty little things like Orikan getting Phaeron and Mono redeployment giving him a pretty solid territory the he can cover with his death ray (plus 20(40) rapid fire Gauss to the face, JIC).

As far as adjustments go, I would monitor how Angry Earth effected the first round in particular. Also GI. Dropping on of those for the Lance is tempting, as is going Lance+haywire+haywire for the Conclave. Pewpewpew.

Thought of this as a bit more firepower intensive alternative:

HQ (670)
Olord (WS/MSS/SW/PS//Phylacc/Reroll Relic/TA)
Olord (Phaeron/RO)

RC
Chrono + God Schackle
5 x Haywiretek
2 x Pulsetek

Troops (365)
5 x Warriors (2 x Hayrwire)
5 x Warriors (2 x Haywire)
5 x Warriors (2 x Pulse)
10 x Gauss Immortals (Olords, Chrono, Haywire)

HS (575)
Mono
Mono
Doomsday Arc

Conclave of the Burning One (300ish?)
C'tan (Trans Bolt, Time's Arrow or Lord of Fire)
+ Haywiretek
+ Haywiretek

That should put you around 1910 if my math is right. Enough left over for some extra toys or back Warrior squad.

I was thinking with the threat range of the Mono's people are going to want to castle up in the corner and try to refuse flank you. An extra long range Strength 9 AP 1 Pie Plate to throw down field should help you out a bit there. It also significantly raises both your anti elite infantry and anti horde fire power.

Doubling up on the Haywire crews and adding one to your Olord entourage also raises the anti tank up a good notch. Should be a solid list.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Oh, and of course, the Conclave now rolls with two Haywireteks and a Trans Bolt, so each Monolith projects a 24" range of vehicle insta death (the normal Haywire crews do, too, really, but there's just something special about it coming from a 6 Wound T 8 4++ FNP 5+ source.)
