Subject: Fighting an Ork horde at around 250 points...Ideas?

Hey Gents,
I have recently been getting slowly back into 7th edition 40k. Was initially not a fan of it, and still I am hesitant. I have also been slowly getting a few buddies into it, started with Bolt Action, and that was a gateway to 40k. Anyway, I have developed small 250 point armies for the following: AM, SM, CSM, Necrons, Tyranids, and Orks. Now I typically play the Orks as they allow my friends to get lots of kills quickly, but lately we have run into a problem, I haven't lost.
I just made a quick army with a unit of boyz, a nob, and a warboss. It has 26 models, I am looking for suggestions from any players out there how to handle so many models at such a low point.
I don't want to tailor a list for the Orks., just looking for suggestions on how to handle them at such a low point cost.

Not familiar with bolt action, but am familiar with low points Orks (we play 500 to 750)
The solution used to be longfangs and grey hunters. Grey hunters to take the charge if needed and shoot as much as possible, longfangs to pile missiles of the most appropriate variety in.
Tervagon and some devilgaunts?
something that forces morale checks eg pinning?

Aren't the Orks fearless at over 10 or so models? I thought I read that is no more, but I was unsure. We are playing a bit of 6th/7th rules as I update myself before applying it to the game. I haven't even mentioned "detachments" and "formations" to my buddies, they are just recently getting the To Hit Tables, S vs T, and WS vs WS tables down.

Orks aren't fearless anymore but have a table to roll at is they fail a test. Usually the loose some models and stay put but sometimes they break.
What I fear as an ork player are templates of any shape or form and, stuff I can't get to in assault or if the opponent has so small units that if I assault them, I wipe them only to get massacred by its friends in the next shooting phase.

Anything with blast and/or template weapons. One Thunderfire Cannon/Wyvern will wreck that unit of boyz.

Bolt Action is a WWII wargame, with much quicker rules than 40k and a unique method of player turns.

I as an ork player hate getting counter charged and templates. So do that.

'Nids growing soon
3500 pts. unpainted
Admech 1000 buying & building
If you don't enjoy playing against people with unpainted armies, break into their house when they sleep, paint their figures for them, help yourself to their cheerios and then your problems will be solved.
Well, my opponents usually don't have more than 1-2 Wave Serpents 'cos Serpent spam is very expensive in real life money.

Thunderfire cannon cost 100 points, too much for such a low point game.

Are you requiring an HQ at 250 (not everyone does)?
I play DA, so I run a librarian with biomancy or telepathy, in a rhino with a tac squad. Standard boyz tend to be useless againt light armor. Flamer or heavy bolter on the tac squad. Scout sniper squad with a heavy bolter as the other troop choice.
If you're not requiring HQ, you can afford a dev squad with heavy bolters, which is a good all around unit, or if you want it to specifically counter orks heavy flamers can do the job too.
(Keep in mind this works for all SM armies, not just DA.)

I typically require at least an HQ and a troop choice. I am just trying to avoid tailoring any of the "starter" armies just to counter the orks.

SM captain with teeth of terra and combi-melta; teeth will help against hording, but is still a viable weapon against other armies, combi melta is a widely applicable side-arm.
Tac squad kitted up as need be for balance.
