I'll break this down into categories...

1. What do you bring o a store to play a game?
I bring these items...
-Rulebook. In case i need to look stuff up. I'm not one of these who claim to have it memorized. I forget stuff and have trouble keeping track of some stuff. I dont own a little one so if my opponant has one out, and is willing to share, I leave mine in my case so it doesnt walk off on me.
-Templates. Depends on where I'm playing. At home, I have them, at a buddies house, I take mine. If it is at the local shop, I might or might not. The reason for this is ONLY because they have a buttload of them marked with store name as a courtesy for us players. If that were not the case, I would bring them every time. Tourney time...I bring my own because there is a high demand for shop ones then.
-Tape measure. Very usefull thing that and often times both players like to measure seperately and makes set up faster with both players having one.
-Dice. Gotta have them.
-Codex. Of the army(s) I'm playing
-Oh yeah, models.

2. Are you willing to share?
I generally dont mind sharing. If I have my rulebook out and the other players needs to look something up, I let them so they dont have to get theirs out. Same for templates and all. Save on space which can be at a premium, especially if playing at a shop and makes it less likely for your stuff to walk off on you.Same goes for if they let me use theirs.

I understand some people are "funny" or superstitious and whatnot and I totaly respect their wishes. Some have germ phobias (in this day and age, dont blame them) and others dont like to have anyone touch their dice ect and so forth.

3. Food/drink? I always bring sodas/energy drinks. If at a shop, I check policy before bringing them in of course. You cant assume these things. (the table top is NOT a place to put your drink.) Food, depends on the plan. I usually dont as I like to keep food seperate from models.

As the 'rules guy' for my group, I bring the BRB, and a codex if it's new and/or not a digital one on my tablet (after a few weeks I normally have them memorised). I bring tape and dice, and don't mind sharing either with my opponent; dice just go into the same collective pile and as long as I leave with as many as I started with I'm happy.

I'll always bring at least two armies for any system I intend to play so I can change up my lists a bit, play larger or smaller games or lend stuff to folks without any/enough minis. I also own most of the group terrain, such as it is, so I bring that as well.

I don't bring food, usually eating before we meet, and the place we play at is stocked with squash/water/biscuits.

Only thing I don't bring is templates, only because I don't have any.

Dunno why, but I haven't had a chance to pick them up yet.

Mostly, I play in my basement, so I don't have to bring anything. Or I bring it all, depending on the perspective.

However, when I play elsewhere...

Models - This can be a little, or a carload. On occasion, I've transported a ton of painted terrain and fortifications. This is the biggest reason I don't play in other places... I just don't like packing/unpacking models.

Paper stuff - BRB and binder with all summary sections from all codices; photocopies of random WDs; army lists

Digital - All digital codices & dataslates, excel spreadsheets with digital copies of army lists, and my own notes

Paraphernalia - Dice, Templates, Dice Tray, Markers

Food & stuff - Not me. Someone else takes care of it Unless it's at a place that sells food & drink.

I might bring a wallet, maybe. There is very little that's interesting about playing in stores and I am on the fence about giving them any money.

I feel like if there weren't any game stores then the proportion of relatable people who know about warhammer would go up a lot.

Two iPads. New one is on the codecies and army lists I use since nearly every army I have uses the codex AND another source of one kind or another. White Dwarf, supplements, dataslates, blah blah blah. I don't bother with books ever. Old iPad is on the BRB because it doesn't like doing anything fast anymore.

Tape measure, templates, a six inch ruler for faster movement, a 12" ruler if I ever find the fether again for Fast vehicle and quick 'in rapid fire range' measurements. Somewhere around 70 dice of various colors and sizes. Cut squares of a post-it for Objectives. Enough energy drinks to give a small horse a heart attack. Occasionally I'll bring a piece of terrain I HAVE to have. Forests for instance or a big bunker type building that isn't common in stores.

And two 1250pt armies. This might be because my friends don't have any of their own models and need to borrow mine, or someone might prefer to play against Tyranids instead of my Eldar.

Typically I set my templates and rulers on the table for whoever's turn it is. I couldn't care less who uses my stuff as long as it gets back to me at the end of things. And if they can navigate the digital versions they're free to use my iPad as well. My own grubby mitts leave steaks and fingerprints on the screen so cleanliness is out the window. Curse you acidic hands!

Generally, a dicecube, a tape measure, a flame template (or small blast if it's my 'crons), my kindle and my models. Sometimes a couple more tins of dice.

I just bring my army, the appropriate codex, and maybe a rulebook depending on where I'm playing.

I'm surprised so many people bring dice. Everywhere I play (mostly local GW or mate's place) will have dice, bringing my own will just make me liable to forget which ones are mine.

Same with tape measure, everywhere I play will have at least 1 tape measure, if I want to measure stuff while my opponent is using it, I'll use a whippy stick.

It does make me wonder if the wargaming crowd is a bit possessive... I always just assume if someone comes to my house to game they'll use my stuff, rulebook, tape measures, dice, templates (other than codices which I'm unlikely to own), if I go to someone else's house I usually expect to use their stuff, if I go to my local store, they typically have dice/templates/measuring devices but don't like people using the in store books so I'll bring my own rulebook/codex.

The essentials of course (Codex, army, tape measure)

My friend lends me his BRB, templates, and dice.

I do however also bring my iPod for epic background music and my Crap Books where I write down my lists/any random ideas that come to mind during the game.

I've got no problems with sharing my army and codex, but I'm paranoid about letting others use my iPod and Crap Books. Not sure why I'm possessive over those, but I don't like others using anything of mine which has my ideas written down in it

I bring two decks of Tactical cards. Makes it easier to get a casual game that isn't line up and kill each other.

Doesn't mean I always play Maelstrom, I just know nobody likes doing it if bookkeeping is involved.

I tend to play at a FLGS with a few friends. No pickup games with randos. I don't have a problem sharing anything, but it's also always been common for both players to bring their own rulebooks, dice, rulers, and templates. I guess it's just a matter of respect: if I can schlep all my stuff to the game store, so can you!

The gaming table also makes for a great work space. Lots of room and any spills become "terrain details".

I dont have a car and the nearest store where i can play is about 3hr in public transport, so i have to choose wisely what i going to bring to the game, i learn to make some miracles with a single backpack, so:
1. I brin my sw army, enought to build different list, they are around 2500 pts, so i have the optiond to make list betwwen 1500 to 2k points, my dices, a tablet (android) with the codex an rules and nothing more, i can bring more thins so...
2. I have to relay in the thing the store have, templates, measure tape, cards and accesories, like scenarie or markers, and about to share, i ahve almost nothing to share, just the tablet with the rules, i wish i could bring more to share :(
3. again, i can only carry a bottle of water, food, i just go to the subway downstair to have my launch.
To own a car in my country have become a luxury so i prefer to keep working in my own game room and create a local wargaming club, until then i keep making miracles with my backpack

Because space isn't an issue, I let my friends leave stuff here of they want. With 40k in recent years escalating model sizes, transportation is tougher and tougher.

I own only digital codecies so I bring with my self Kindle eboock, 100 dice, templates and models.

Usualy I don't mind shearing my dice and templates as long as I have it back)

From time to time I bring with my self my own battle mat and terrain peacies too. But terrain takes alot of place and a pain to transport, so I bring it only if I asked bring it.

I take a rulebook, sometimes both digital and physical. Templates, dice models etc. no problem sharing templates dice and rules with an opponent. Would rather more people to play with than take a moral stand because someone else doesn't have everything.

Books, template (though sometimes like my current wraith list I use 0 templates so no need to bring them ), tape measure, psychic cards for the trees I want to use/can use, dice, models.

I'll share, though generally I'd like to be able to trust the person a little before I do. Not like I have to have known them for a bit, but know dice aren't going to vanish which is annoying or that they're going to even accidentally rip, smudge or fold pages in books. Can get the idea about that like really quickly.

I never bring food in with me, if it's a drink then it will always be something with a lid I can keep close when I'm not drinking from it. Then it sits out of the way on the floor, not the table ever.

I bring two complete armies, one to display and one to actually play, because I'm tired of list tailoring dicks building a hard counter to my army on display. Yes, its a bait and switch, but since my armies have pre-printed army lists, I find it a more balanced and fair match-up.

In addition, the BRB, my codex(s), ruler, markers, beverage, breath mints, Fabreeze.
